You know i read through this thread before i saw this movie today. I've come to the conclusion that all the criticism makes you guys sound like a bunch of whiney babies. I was expecting a crapfest, and what i got was a TF movie that blew the first film clear outta the water and this is coming from a G1 for lifer!

The Twins weren't even in it as much as some of you made out. They were on screen maybe 10 minutes tops. Yes that was 10 minutes too long but still.......

For some reason i found the humor in this one not as cringe worthy as TF1. And there wasn't that many sex jokes, come on......

I never thought i'd say this but i LIKED Simmons in this...alot!

The Forest fight, and the bickering between Megs and Starscream is worth the price of admission alone. That Forest fight is gonna go down in TF movie history, watch......

Megan Fox running in slow mo with all her goodies bouncing up and down as the golden sun Glistened off them =

The Twin=

Soundwave....i'm neutral about 'cause i would have liked him to transform at least once, and dispatch Ravage saying a G1 line....

Scorponok should have stayed in the sand as easy as he was killed......

That's all i have for now........just got back.

I have my doubts it's even that much.

As cool as it was seeing Soundwave and all, it was a little lame because they kept reusing the same shot half the time they showed him.

I hope for the third film he'll join the other Decepticons on Earth (or whatever planet the third movie takes place in) and get an alt mode.

Considering he's one of 3 Decepticons left from this movie, he probably will. :woot:

Even if it less, it's still a waste of screentime. 10 minutes that could've gone to Autobots like Ironhide and Ratchet or any of the new ones like Sideswipe, Arcee and Jolt, get spend on the Twins just talking crap. Arcee and Sideswipe have like 1-2 lines, but the freaking Twins get to hold entire conversations. Something definitely went terribly wrong.

I posted this in another thread, but the scene when Megatron is calling for SS to help him at the final battle, SS should have flown off at that point, then Soundwave could have shown up and carried off the wounded Megatron...

Btw, was that Michael Papajohn aka 'Uncle Bens original killer' from SM as Mikeala's dad..?

Saw it last night in IMAX in NYC:

Simply put, the movie was ****ing awesome. I really don't get quite get a lot of the criticism people are giving it.

The twins:

Racist? Eh, not at all. Stereotypes? Maybe, but all in all they just came off as wannabes that were amusing. As for them being compared to Jar Jar, they were barely in the film, or rather barely spoke enough to be what I would consider even remotely annoying.

The story/plot:

It was simple as **** to follow, and it didn't feel as segmented as the first film. My only complaint, or rather odd issue was that the Fallen was on Cybertron all this time. That aside, it felt more simplistic/less messy than the first film, but even more so due to...

Characters/Lack of development:

One thing I loved was that there weren't any useless/annoying human characters this time around (the hackers mostly). The new human characters I felt were good. Sam's roommate was slightly annoying, but it helped to set up some great comedic moments, especially with Simmons. Plus Simmons was far more tolerable this time around, a big improvement in my eyes. Sam's parents were far more enjoyable also in this regard. Sam himself wasn't as sarcastic, but I chalk that up to him "maturing" after the experience of the first film. As for Mikaela, she was just there, and it wasn't good nor bad.

As for the autobots/decepticons, I didn't really feel the need for development with them. I could care less about backgrounds for Arcee/Sideswipe/Soundwave, etc, being fleshed out as they served their purposes and didn't require it. Given they are still alive (minus that one Arcee unit, not clear if the blue one died) there is room for more if necessary in another sequel. I was dissappointed by the lack of dialogue from the constructicons, and the sudden reemergence of a few familiar faces was odd, but all in all it worked. Again, my biggest beef is the Fallen being on Cybertron all this time.

Perverted/gross/fart humor:

Really, why was this such an issue for people? It's brief, well placed and was highly entertaining. Nothing much more needs to be said about it.

CGI/Visuals:

Absolutely stunning. Granted I'll need to see it again on a regular screen to follow it better, but everything was vivid and amazing.

Final verdict:

I'm no Bayfan, the only other film of his I enjoy moderately is BBII. I came into this expecting exactly what I saw in the first, which I enjoyed and thought, even with all its flaws and annoyances, was a fun film. With RoTF, everything was better. It was simple, fun and entertaining. I was less/hardly annoyed with things like I was with the first, and all in all it was a great experience with the crowd in the theater. I think people have been reading into this film way more than they need to, and I feel sorry for those who couldn't "check their brain at the door" and just enjoy the film for what it was. I got what I expected and wanted, giant ****ing robots ****ing **** up, and it was excellent. Best film next to Star Trek I've seen this year.

9.5/10

We both think alike. And did you noticed Sam scribbling all over the 'Bad Boys 2' poster in college?:woot: I actually hated BBII but still....

I'm not gonna argue with that. It was a wasted opportunity to showcase Sideswipe and Arcee who are so much cooler, even with the little screentime they had. Especially Sideswipe.

Actually it's more like people are so depressed because of the economy they will watch any **** that is thrown at them...
then why didnt wolverine make 300 millions domestic? it had a huge fanbase.or why didnt terminator made more money?

come on...........come on.............you can try it :cwink:

what a crappy, trash filled load of steamy garbage. to those of u who said this was better then THE DARK KNIGHT, all i can say to you is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. boy u got the shaft. this movie was awful. yes it is making money( at the moment ) it will have a huge drop off next week. oh well, too bad HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHHAHA

You know, now that i think about it, i don't recall seeing Skids in robot mode.

I think I only saw Jolt when they dropped Optimus and he helped fuse Jetfire's parts onto him. He was so wasted, even more than Sideswipe and the Arcee sisters. I don't think he even had a line.

That would have been awesome and a great reason to show more of Soundwave.

And yes that was Michael Papajohn I believe.

Sideswipe was in the movie?

Remember he is in the intro scene when NEST is hunting down Decepticons. Sideswipe is the Corvette that says "Damn, I'm good" when he slices Sideways in half.

Yeah That's him. He gets a lot of roles in big movies. I can't believe how many times I've seen him in theaters (about 7 times if his IMDB resume is correct)

Agreed, I did expect more Sideswipe, would have loved a mention of Sunstreaker also.

I wasnt that bothered about the lack of Jolt to be honest, he is a nothing character.

Sideways was in the movie?!

Sideways was in the movie?!

Yeah he is the Audi that gets sliced in half by Sideswipe when the Twins and Arcee are also in pursuit of him.

Everything does go by rather quickly. :hehe:

I'd like the guy that has the ability to fuse Transformer parts to have at least some minimal development. Just enough to know a bit about his character. Like we know how Jazz was 2nd in command, Ironhide is the Weapon specialist of the team, Ratchet the medic. Jolt was just some random blue Autobot.

those are soldiers. yes they look cool and transform. but they are still just soldiers.

I actually liked the college sequence. I wish they could have explained what Alice's outta shell was, as it couldn't have been a hologram.

I also like the shot of Ravage spitting those tiny balls down the vent. Did anyone catch Ravages alt mode?

I liked the Alice sequence too, even though it didn't make a lick of sense. So she's interested in what's in Sam's mind. So why the heck is she blowing **** up all around him and risking to potentially kill him?

They wanted his brain...not him. So, dead or alive it didnt matter, just as long as she didnt blow his head off.
