Transformers Transformers The Game!!!

Won't be Graphical-wise

If it's got bad graphics (or "graphicals" :yay:), it won't be the Wii's fault. It's got almost twice the power of the Gamecube, and there were some beautiful games put out on that. What you're seeing early on with the Wii from most third-party publishers are PS2 ports with no graphics bump. The good news for us Wii owners is that companies are finally starting to work on exclusive titles for the platform, and most of the screenshots I've seen are really great.

It still won't be HD quality, but it'll be good enough.

I don't understand settleing for 'good enough if game companies have the potential to crank up the graphics. "Well they could if they wanted to" doesn't cut it any more. You either do or you dont. Frankly, the seemingly lack of interest in putting out nex-gen quality on the Wii in terms of graphical standards is one reason I have not picked up a Wii yet (I've got my PS3 and 360). The Wii looks to be an even worse mess then the GC. In my library I've got 30+ games for my PS2, 20+ games for my XBOX, 17 games for my 360, 8 games for my PS3 and 5 games for my GC. Nintendo is just a big let down now days IMO. Back on topic.

Is it me or does the Transformers Game (All consoles except for hand helds) look like most of the landscapes are going to look/be the same ala Spider-Man 3/Superman Returns. My problem with those games was the lack of detail or rather, the diversity of the environments. Spider-Man 3 had some indoor levels which I reeeeeeally looked forward to due to the fact that it got rather borring looking at grey/tan landscapes all the time. Sure, you can say that 'it's a city, it all looks the same' but the fact is, a city doesn't look the same block for block. I spent 2 weeks in NYC and no, nothing looked the same. I've not seen any screen caps for anything other than streets and builidings. I enjoyed the PS2 Transformers game, and I liked the fact they had diverse levels. Someone please post a pic or two of something other than grey/tan buildings as a backdrop for the game to quell my worries.

The cityscapes look a little different in this game, if only because they're set out West and not in NYC.

Maybe some of the games coming out this summer and fall will change your mind about the system. Go check out the videos on IGN for Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy. That should give you some idea of what the Wii is capable of. I'll be getting an XBox360 once they fix their hardware problems, but in my opinion, the Wii has become the ONLY system that I'll play a first-person shooter on. The controls are as close to a keyboard and mouse as you can get.

^ Is it true that you can only play games by using the nunchukas, or can you sit down and play, say, Zelda, with a normal controller?

And that is interesting, western cityscape. I live on the west coast, and the wests cityscapes are different than that of the east.

does anyone know if you can run around in free rome without having to do any missions when you start the game because I don't want any spoilers?

cool but I don't like how the PSP's gameplay looks

No, not all games require the nunchuk, but most do. Zelda, for instance, does. Super Paper Mario (great game) and Big Brain Academy are two that come to mind that don't require anything other than the remote.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think the Wii has got more power than the Cube. I don't think twice as powerful, but slightly better specs.

Spoken like a Sony exec.

Sorry, dude, but you're mistaken. At the very least, it's 1.5 times better. Some say 2 times. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Technical specifications

Nintendo has released few technical details regarding the Wii system, but some key facts have leaked from the press. Though none of these reports has been officially confirmed, they generally point to the console as being an extension or advancement of the previous Nintendo GameCube core architecture. More specifically, the reported analyses state that the Wii is roughly 1.5 to two times as powerful as its predecessor.[1][42]

Somewhere in the middle? That means 1.75 times stronger?

The Wii isn't as strong as the PS3 or X-box 360 but it's definetly stronger than the Gamecube. Play both and you can easily see the difference in graphics and detail. Like I said before, it's nowhere near as strong as Sonys or Microsofts but it is stronger than the Gamecube.

i read somewhere that the Wii's graphic capabilities are a wii-bit better than the first Xbox's. looks about right to me...

Could always compare both versions of Zelda : TP, same game on both systems.

That's not exactly a good game to use for comparison. It was originally intended for just Gamecube, so they basically could only give it a slight upgrade when porting as apposed to starting from scratch with the Wii hardware.

Zelda: TP is a Gamecube game that was ported to the Wii, so their graphics are identical. Still, it was a great-looking game.
