The Last Knight Transformers:The Last Knight Official Thread

you're not really 'discussing' it... just complaining... and just because you have the right to sit there and ***** your face off, doesn't mean that you should do it. Do what i'm about to do with this conversation... go find something more fulfilling to do.

If you're still complaining about a franchise that's in its fifth movie by now with the same director, I'm not sure why you'd expect anything too different, not to mention still pay any kind of attention to it, imo.

Regardless of whoever's writing the film, it's still gonna have Michael Bay-isms all over the place.

Yeah complaining about these films at this point is redundant. You know exactly what you're getting.

I can complain about whatever I want. I'm talking about what was shown at the IMAX presentation.

This is a discussion forum, and people were asking about the IMAX sneak peek. Get over it. It's not my fault these movies are poorly written and executed.

Complaining about something is still part of discussing it. Sorry, but you are entirely wrong here. We can discuss whatever we want (TF related) on a TF-based thread :) If you think it's good, then cool, but you can't simply prohibit other people sharing their opinions.

And TheVileOne is entirely correct here - these movies indeed ARE poorly written and executed. It's not subjective, unfortunately. It's objective. The critics see it, the audiences see it. The only excuse that one can bring is BO and this simply doesn't do any justice as bad films have made a lot of money in many cases before.

Just curious did you see the whole movie or just extended footage?

At this point no one needs to watch a whole bayformers film to know whether its the same messy **** like the last 4. The trailers alone are enough to see that this new film will be the same **** that Bay gave us the last four times.

Not sure if this has been reported:

Fourteen more Transformers movies are in development

While speaking with MTV at CinemaCon, Michael Bay revealed that there are fourteen stories written for the TRANSFORMERS franchise, which includes both main saga movies and spin-offs.

Yeah, not gonna lie, that's a Sony level idiotic decision.

Agreed. Whether it's true or not Paramount will soon come to the realization that the American audience for these films is vanishing. The last film had terrible legs, a large second weekend dropoff, and the lowest domestic gross of the series. Paramount should have rebooted this mediocre series after the third film.

It's a lie. Bay said the writers room came up with 14 ideas where the franchise could go. Not that they have 14 movies mapped out. I'm sure they'd love 14 for a whole Hasbro franchise but whatever.

Wait, who do you think is lying? Bay or the article writers? The article said Bay said the writers have 14 stories written for movies and spinoffs. Not that the films were mapped out. I assume by "stories written" he means story treatments or outlines. Not full blown scripts.

Frankly even if its just treatments or outlines that sounds as awful to me as Bay announcing they had 14 full scripts. It tells me that they are pushing ahead with the current Bayformers universe with spinoffs. It also gives me flashbacks of what Sony tried to do and is still trying to do with the Spidermanverse. Unlike Sony however Paramount will probably make it a reality and make actual movies out of some of those 14 stories.

At this point the only thing that could stop this Bayformers universe is a financial bomb (unlikely) or the studio getting into a financial situation that requires them to do something drastic and sell the rights to another studio.

His words last night were "they come up with 14 stories for where the franchise could go." I believe the articles are misinterpreting his words.

I highly doubt there are 14 actual scripts in the pipeline.

Saw the footage today, i have to agree with Vile, its pretty much what you already come to expect from Transformers, not as unbearable as the last 3, IMO.
Also the CG looks wonky but i guess its still unfinished.

Unsurprisingly... there's going to be a new trailer with the Fast & Furious movie next weekend

I saw the IMAX footage. I haven't been keeping up with these films. I only saw the first two, so I didn't know much about anyone in this movie. The footage was 30 minutes of short cuts to scenes throughout the film (probably from 1st act, maybe bits of 2nd act?) with the very last portion basically the trailer cut in.

The kids part was just as cringy as the trailers let on. Did not like their dialogue at all. And the girl, Izabella, I swear every emotional scene she had was a tear streaking down her cheek & very over-dramatic. It was as if Michael Bay was shouting, "Ok people, this is an emotional scene. Crank up the emotional music times ten. Bring on the tears." Like he had to hammer it into the audience. After awhile I started to chuckle. And that part where Wahlberg made that crack to Vivian about her dress like a stripper, and she said something like, "Well what do you want me to do, take it off?" It was just eye-roll. The character didn't seem believable at all. I thought Anthony Hopkins bit was good. I was surprise to see him in the movie. The one Cogman robot seem to have a little personality. But most of the clips were focused on the humans, Primarily Mark Wahlberg and the kids.

The little bit of action shown was what you'd expect from a Michael Bay movie. Didn't see any of the big major action set pieces, but saw a little of the battle scene of the King Arthur lore & some of the chase scenes with the kids and Mark Wahlberg. I guess the one thing this movie has going for it is seeing what the action scenes look like in 3D, considering the way it was shot. The rest of the movie......I'm uncertain about.

The IMAX sneak peek wasn't even shown in 3D.

Yeah I know. That's why it will be interesting to see how they handle it since this movie was shot specifically for 3D. The only movie I saw in 3D at the theater that actually made an impression on me was James Cameron's Avatar. Aside from that, I don't care for 3D and haven't been impressed by it since.

“He was telling me about the work he did on [the Transformers bots] – how he would refine them and go into the special effects guys and design them and get all the details of light on metal and all that. He told me all that at breakfast before I started on the film. I thought ‘This guy’s a genius. He really is.’ He’s the same ilk as Oliver Stone and Spielberg and Scorsese. Brilliance. Savants, really, they are. He’s a savant.”

Between that and Christopher NOlan's apparent love of his flicks, there is something going on under the surface there.

Maybe working with him is actually kind of a fun experience, despite whatever people may think of his films?
