Travel from NY to SF in One Hour at 4,000mph

Weird. I've never heard of this but I'd sketched out an idea for my comic with something like this except it was in space cause I wanted to a Murder on the Orient idea.

I hope this becomes viable. Like JMC said, even transporting goods/materials would be great.

This has real potential.

Musk has already shown that he can take on the car industry.

I love the rich folks that just throw money at amazing ideas because **** how things are done, they want to see if it can happen.

I get not having any windows, you're in a solid tube.
Although they better shoot for making these tings a bit bigger, cause I might flip out on such a tiny closed pod, or have to be heavily sedated. ;)
This isn't for some quick 3min. roller coaster ride.

Stick with a train instead maybe?

Original concept ^

vs

Prototype bellow:

Stick with a train instead maybe?
If it stays as small as the prototype, more likely I would stick with car, or plane.
I admit it may be an unreasonable phobia, this thing at least in prototype ( i know things change) seems surprisingly smaller to me!, than I expected from their original concept art.
Hence my: I hope they are shooting for something bigger, reaction: The idea of being with others in such a small "capsule" once launched into a narrow airless vacuum tube, there is no windows, absolutely no way to open a door, or move in any direction.:csad: Even statistically knowing the higher car danger and that a plane (& even submarine) has similar conditions, such a small capsule and design with absolutely no door or way out seems more unnerving, to me! .:funny:
Hence I hope they are shooting for something bigger assuming things change from the cg pictured and prototype bellow, and this now isn't the final goal.

What they are potentially rolling out now:

...that is friggin' small. My wiener wouldn't even be able to fit in that thing.

Phillip Schneider was a meterologist who talked about these trains existing underground back in the 90s. These trains would go from state to state in underground military bases in the US.
Schneider was found strangled to death soon after he was telling the Public what was going on in the us with man made diseases.

How do you feel if you live in those states this tube thing has to cross. It's like unless you are in NY or SF, screw you, you aren't important but we will use up some of your land space.

Take my word and come back and quote it...none of us in here will see a public transportation unit going 4,000 mph in our lifetime for $100.

I actually don't think it will be that expensive if implemented. Once you get past the initial infrastructure costs it won't cost that much to operate because all this thing is doing is working on the lack of friction to increase speeds. All that being said yeah probably will be a good 10-20 years before they stop reducing the prices to pay off the infrastructure

Also, why go to San Francisco if you are already in New York?

You could live in San Fran and work in New York, sleep in your own bed every night.
