Went in to GameStop to pay off my DS Lite today, and low and behold the Nintendo rep was in putting up new DS Lite displays. Before he strapped the thing into it's holster he passed it around to the manager, assistant and me. Wow, this thing is mighty impressive, the pictures and junk we see on the net do not do it justice.
On it's LOWEST brightness setting it's AS bright as the current DS. On it's highest you can play that thing in glaring light and not notice.
The layout is also sweet, the buttons are "3D" if you will, the Mic is now in the center and it just feels so much better in your hands, and I'm the type of person that didn't have a problem with the original.
The white color isn't just plain old, easy to get dirty white either. It's more of an Enamel white, with gloss coating over the top of the DS, very nice looking.
I can't begin to tell you how awesome the games look, in person on the higher brightness level. It takes New Super Mario Bros, and already nice looking game and makes it stand out so much more.
The Lite is going to own....hard. Stop by your local GameStops to test them out yourselves.
