This was HILARIOUS! Alpa-Chino! :hehe:

But RDJ was also brilliant-

"Pump da breaks. You just crossed the line" :lmao:
LOL u butchered that line, but close enough

one of my funniest lines too

the action scenes were great (to my surprise, i wasn't expecting those explosions!)

RDJ = the man

tom cruise dancing = LOLs

Man, I was totally convinced Tom Cruise's character was Jamie Kennedy.

But this wasn't a spoof movie?

Nowadays, we've become used to the spoof movie that strictly apes. Look at Mel Brooks movies- they were spoofs, but each had a plot and the references were subtle. Tropic Thunder was more like that. This upcoming "Disaster Movie" is what we've become used to: A string of obvious references with some jokey dialogue injected in.

Some of the references I noticed:
-Platoon
-Apocalypse Now
-Full Metal Jacket
There's probably more, but I'm not well-versed on Vietnam films.

I wasn't expecting as much cussing as there was. Normally it doesn't bother me...but it was literally every other word to the point it felt like they were cussing JUST to give the rating that extra push into R territory.

There's a lot of profanity, but I had my mother with me and she was more turned off by the use of gore for gags than the profanity. I've heard much worse. There are British films I've seen that have much more, and a lot of the bad American ones I've seen overuse it to the point of being tasteless.

Again, it's rated R. Outside of full-on sex, expect to see and hear anything.

It was supposed to be crude. Okay that is just your opinion, I respect it.

Anywho me and my sis saw this on Sunday and had a hell of a good time. The funniest part in the movie was the "Satans Alley" trailer. It was honestly just about the funniest thing that I have ever seen. RDJ is absolutely fantastic in this movie, just fantastic. The movie was funny and actually exciting when it really wasn't trying to be funny. I really dug it.

I agree. And I also agree with your mom. I thought the most offensive thing in the film involved a severed head...but it was still funny.

The thought of having your mother next to you while watching the "Booty Sweat" promo is hilarious to me.

Shouldn't. I went with my mom to see it on my b-day, and she was laughing so hard during the majority of the movie, she was crying.

She states she will be buying this film as soon as it comes out on dvd.

I haven't seen Tropic Thunder yet, but I am going on the weekend to the theaters, so I'll check it out I suppose.

This is the best action comedy I remember seeing in the last decade.
Amidst all the awful parody movies and stupid teen comedies, this was so very refreshing.

The only thing that kept this from being a perfect 10 for me was them having some little kid as the leader bad guy... His acting was poor and the gimmick was lame.

Yeah, this was what a spoof movie should be, it's like the Naked Gun, an original script, but still manages to "send up" the movies it wants to. Also just spoofs over pampered stars and Hollywood in general.

I thought it was funny, but a lot of the jokes missed for me, also tom cruise just wasn't funny I thought

I wonder what kind of second weekend this movie will have.

I thought the fake previews was a genius idea. Seeing Tobey Maguire as a gay monk in Satan's Alley was hilarious to me.

I think the potential is there for Cruise and/or RDJ to get Oscar noms for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy/Musical.
