trying to setup a wireless network

I have 3 laptops in the house one of them is connected via the wireless router adsl modem via an ethernet cable, I want to be able to get the other two to pick up a signal in order for those 2 two to go online, but It doesnt seem to be picking up a signal. Do I have to set up the laptop that the wireless router is connected to ?

Are you sure the wireless on your router has been setup properly? Can you access the GUI on the wireless router? Does it have a ESSID (the name of the wireless network)setup, usually the brand of the router by default, if so is the ESSID broadcasted?
