I got Turok about a month ago, but only because I got it for a great price. $30. It's great for that price. $60, probably not. But I was on the fence for a long time about this game as well as it seems to get mixed reviews. I generally satisfied with the game. But listen to me when I say, be prepared for a beating.
I still haven't beaten the game yet because I'm the kind of guy that switches back and forth. Plus I'm trying to get all the gaming I can get in because I'm getting married next Saturday and then I start Grad school in June, so I know I'm going to have a hard time making time for games.
The game can be really fun though and thre graphics are great. Killing dinosaurs is the best part of the game. Unfortunately, there are lot of times when you're having shot outs with soldiers which isn't as fun IMO because they can be hard as hell at times. I'm pretty good at first person shooters but I know there are a lot of people better than me. If you are good at first person shooters or better, then you might want to pick it up. But if you generally suck at first person shooters or aren't that strong in them, then I'd pass because it can get frustrating.
If you can survive past the elevator part which is a pain, then you'll end up enjoying yourself more as the game gets better, or at least from where I've gotten the game. Using the knife on the dinos is great. If you can get the game for a deal, then by all means, but I wouldn't pay full price for the game. But then again, I never pay full price as I wait out until a sale comes along or I can by something used.
