TV Shows on "the Bubble"

I'm not Leno's biggest fan, but I will definitely feel bad for him if his new show bombs. If this show, which is kind of unprecedented, moving late night to prime time bombs, his career and legacy will have a serious black mark on it. He will have gone from the late night king, to a prime time bust to the guy who can't get work. If it bombs, what are his options? ABC seems perfectly happy with Kimmel. CBS just signed a posh new deal with Letterman to keep him there for years to come. And Conan will be in the big show at NBC (and its clear that everyone at NBC loves Conan, even if his ratings aren't Jay good initially, no one is going to screw him over). So that leaves Fox...and a Fox late night show is bound for failure and embarrassment. So, he'll either have to try a Hail Mary pass with Fox and taint his legacy further or fade into obscurity and in essence go out with a whimper. Of course if this transpires he has no one to blame but himself and his own arrogance. Leno could've retired at the top of his game with class and dignity. Instead, he is going to be the Brett Favre of late night television.

NBC was foolish to force Leno out in favor of Conan whose ratings have been slipping big time for quiet some time now. Ferguson was actually beating him for the most part - wasn't until the "Farewell" week that his numbers picked up.

They only struck this deal with Leno after the realization that he's A) still popular with viewers B) one of the very few people who makes NBC good money C) the offers from rival networks much in the same way Letterman jumped ship after they screwed him over...ironically enough for Jay.

From a business, it was ******ed to have made that move and they're going to deservedly lose even more in the ratings-war with Leno's new show.

Even if Conan's ratings were slipping, the quality of the shows were still pretty good, especially the Writers Strike shows, where Conan went completely insane.

New timeslot, new theme music, new studio and new name for the band and the show are going to be the only changes Jay Leno is going to make. Everything else stays the same: John Melendez as the announcer, Kevin Eubanks still leading the band, segments such as Jay-Walking, Headlines and the random Gilbert Gottfred/Fred Willard appearances, Stuff We Found on E-Bay, etc. Hell, I wouldn't be completely surprised if the theme music is kept the same.

None of that changes the fact that Conan's numbers have been down and that Leno's have been consistently strong. From a 100% business standpoint, it was flat out ******ed of NBC to show him the door while he was (and still is) making them money. And that network isn't in any position to fire one of their few money-makers.

But Conan is popular with a younger audience, I think they're hoping to bring that in while also keeping most of Leno's audience. The flaw of course, is that this means direct competition with The Colbert Report. Never the less I think Conan will do fine.

If Kings gets cut...I guess I don't have anything to watch on NBC again...I find NBC so boring.

that sucks about Reaper. and they replace it with another chick show privlaged. No surprise there. God the CW is so god awful.

After Supernatural and Smallville End i'm so done with that "network"

Reapers creators found new jobs a couple months back, guess they knew what was coming.....Privileged is already there, they are just moving to another timeslot

I know its there, i'm surprised they don't put it back into its old time slot to match up with 90210.

It'd be cool if they could show two shows simultaneously.
