TV Shows You've Given Up On.

Ooh, I thought of another one... Aqua Teen Hunger Force!

That went from quirky, funny and clever to just effin' stupid (like Frylock really being a woman) around the time the movie came out. Even before that. The Boost Mobile episode may have been a shark jump.

Speaking of Adult Swim, I also gave up on Sealab 2021 when the guy who played the Captain died.

House M.D. - It was a matter of stopping while I was ahead. The season four finale was so good that I realized that there was little-to-no chance it would get any better and opted to walk. That, and there was just no way I could buy that Wilson would forgive House - which we all knew was going to happen eventually.

I say that. Yet I picked up the season five DVD set and enjoyed the Hell out of it. It wasn't season four greatness, but there was plenty to enjoy. On the other hand, losing Kutner was a major blunder albeit understandable. What with Kal Penn requesting the leave and all.

I'll wait till the sixth season hits DVD to check it out.

Heroes...I actually got back into Smallville because of it. It's all talk and no real interesting stories.

The Simpsons: Stopped watching newer episodes around season 12. I still watch earlier seasons almost on a daily basis, but I haven't bothered making the effort to watch a new episode in years.

X-Files: Watched consistently until season 7. Skipped a few episodes here and there, and then completely stopped following the show during season 9. I've since gone back and watched season 9, but during it's initial run I think the only episode I watched was the series finale.

Twin Peaks: Loved the first season, and the first half of the second season... but once the Laura Palmer plotline was resolved I lost interest fast.

I almost ditched 24 after last season, but this season has been good enough to keep me watching.

Funny enough...I stopped watching the same time you did during the original airing. Last year I went back and watched the last few seasons and now I sort of miss the new characters. I liked them. I would have preferred to see them have more seasons now. heh

Just this season, I've given up on a few. The primary amongst them being Stargate: Universe. God, that show was so dull.

Smallville. I liked the first three season but then my God. And they're on their ninth season?

- Heroes (after the 2nd Season)
- Twin Peaks (the last season was rather atrocious, esp. the series finale)
- X-Files (last season sans Mulder was bored imo)

Heroes. And it's a crying shame since the first season was great.

-Family Guy--Enjoyed the fourth and fifth seasons pretty well, but absolutely hated it after that.
-American Dad--Ran out of ideas after one season.
-Robot Chicken--Same.
-Heroes--After a promising first season, it became way too slow and had too many annoying plot points and characters. It reminded me of reading an overly decompressed comic.
-House--Starting with season 3, it got old and became way too reliant on having cheap twists in every episode. From what I've seen, season 4 was better, but the show's premise and basic set-up still felt old.
-Bleach--Everyone I know who likes it says it gets too drawn out and illogical after awhile, which turned me off of going through the episodes. I probably won't read any more of the manga either.
-Gundam 00--I started watching with the second season when Sci Fi showed it, so I didn't always know what was going on, and a lot of it was really generic. I missed a few weeks and didn't feel compelled to look for them to watch online.
-Moribito--Adult Swim moved its timeslot to 2:30, which is too late for me to watch. I couldn't find it to watch online and I'm not into it enough to buy the DVD set.

LOST. Better?

And I have thought about it, the end result is still no! :o

pRICE IS RIGHT. I USED TO LIKE THE SHOW. THEY SEE TO PLAY THE SAME GAMES OVER AND OVER AGING. THEY NEED MORE PLINKO OR SOME NEW GAMES. I LIKE TO WATCH IT SEE WHO WINS. I LIKE TO SEE WHO WINS WHEN THEY SPIN THE BIG WHEEL.

What, are you crazy? Are you nuts?

Nope, just honest. I've given up on LOST and I won't be watching the series finale. End of!

EDIT: Ah, I forgot to add FlashForward. :o

Shows I just kinda stopped watching and didn't feel like getting back into:

House
Smallville
Prison Break

Shows I stopped watching because I didn't like them anymore:

The Simpsons
Family Guy

What's annoying about one of TV's 'worst' shows?

Fixed it for you. Just kidding. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Anna Torv is far from what I expect from an FBI agent. She is not a strong enough character let alone a strong actress. She looks like she wants to break down and cry in every scene. Maybe if they had cast her better I would have enjoyed the show more but it's doubtful.

Joshua Jackson is surprisingly not too bad in the show but everything surrounding him and his shady past is just frustrating.

John Noble is the best thing about Fringe but his involvement in just about every case on the show is just stupid.

I would have made Kirk Acevedo more of a central character, he is a better actor and is more interesting.

All in all, this show had a lot of potential to be the next X-Files type show and really keep me interested for season after season but the cheese is just spread on too thick. It takes itself too serious and the die-hards actually make me like the show even less.

Thats nice....

The X Files - A few episodes into the season where the T-1000 replaced Mulder.

Nip/Tuck - I lost interest after the brilliant Carver storyline, but I kept watching until just after Larry Hagman bought the practice, the show seemed to be more about being as unpleasant and "shocking" as possible after a while.

Battlestar Galactica - After the pilot, but I intend to buy the boxset as it seems I may have been hasty.

Stargate SG1 - When they brought Shanks back from the dead and Jack went behind the desk, I gave up.

Heroes
- I struggled through season 2 and gave up totally a couple of episodes into season 3.

Boston Legal - halfway through season one.

The West Wing - Two episodes into the first season

Smallville - I missed the first season and part of the second, I gave up around season 7.

Monk
- When Sharona went out of it.

ER - I gave up at the beginning of the season where Carter was in Africa finding himself, but I'd been bored for quite a while with it.

Fringe
- About six eps into season one, but I went back and watched the rest a month or so ago and I'm keeping up with season 2.

Heroes - The first season finale was the chink in the armor. By the time Season 2 ended, I was wondering if they were flatly trying to turn people away. Characters showing a glaring lack of intelligence, all too noticeable plot holes and what I attribute to believing its own hype killed this for me. I couldn't care less what the hell happens to any of the leads. I thought I'd make 3-4 episodes of this season before deciding whether or not to keep watching. Then, news of Claire's girl crush (or whatever) came up. I made it through the premiere and promptly hoisted my middle finger.

Smallville - The last time I made a point to watch was the season finale when (what they claim was) Bizarro flew off. Truthfully, that was too long. So much wasted potential. What started as a promising vehicle, giving insight to Clark Kent's maturation, turned into a transparent, banal and repetitive exercise in simply cranking out 22+ episodes instead of keeping a tight narrative. I just got sick of being pissed off with the show. When you start rooting for prominent characters to die, it's time to go.

Nip/Tuck - Cripes, I used to love this show. The Carver fail unnerved me, but ultimately it all got waded in too much crap; Sanaa Lathan, J.R. Ewing and the Organ Harvesting Quasi-Lesbian was the writing on the wall. I managed to endure the pointless move to L.A., but haven't bothered with this season. Nip/Tuck used to be great at making me say "Damn. That's messed up." ...in that good way though. It began to come across as if the writers were trying to try too hard. I might actually be able to get back into this at some later point.

Brothers & Sisters - The combustible family dynamic was heartwarming and entertaining at first. At some point, it became nauseating. I started questioning why these people weren't housed in an asylum somewhere or at least being forced to seek therapy. ****ing dysfunctional loons.

Grey's Anatomy - Seriously, just show me the episode where they take a group outing to get tested for STDs. When the bedhopping and boinking overshadowed any hint of character growth or plot synthesis, I was gone. That turned out to be when Izzy started ****ing a ghost. I still don't know what that was all about and I don't care.

FlashForward - You had me real excited for 2-3 episodes, ABC. Better luck next time.

SportsCenter - I used to LOVE this thing. What the **** happened?! It was creative, clever, timely, informative and just flat out entertaining. I'd be able to watch the same show 3-4 times in row when they had the early morning repeats. Now, I can't stand it. I don't know whether it's the goofy formats or the emphasis on trying to be a entertainment vehicle, but I rather watch ESPNews or just browse the website if I need sports info.

I could probably come up with a few others, but thinking about the dreck that Smallville became has me all angsty and I need to find another topic.

While I haven't given up on Lost... I still don't want to watch the new season. I've missed it since the end of Season 3, so I have no clue what's happening. When the series is over though, I plan to watch the whole thing.

Heroes - Around the time the Indian dude started mutating like the Fly. The story was obviously going no where fast.

The Office - Became a low priority on my dvr until I stopped watching it completely. Each episode had far too few laughs to justify watching it every week.
