I loved how they made the actual time period ridiculously murky and never made an attempt to make it clear to the audience. It's so artsy...

And making no attempt to connect their Sabretooth with X1's Sabretooth? WHO NEEDS CONTINUITY? RIGHT? RIGHT?!

You mean like with Bolivar Trask? :yay:

Original Sabretooth appeared in the first movie. Original Trask appeared in X3.

I'm more than okay with largely ignoring anything to come out of the third. Particularly how ****ty Colossus looked.

Origins was crap.

They did WONDERS with Deadpool, though. :o

I learned after the first X-Men to separate the films from the comics. Within the confines of the film, I thought what they did to Deadpool was very interesting and sad. My only problem with him were the swords in his arms, as they wouldn't have fit.

That didn't bother me at all. I just envisioned the later X-Men Sabretooth as a later evolution of the character. Sabretooth was a beast. As time passed, he gave in to that beast more and more until there was barely any humanity left. It didn't bother me in the slightest. I was just hoping that if The Wolverine took place after Origins but before X-Men, they'd have him come back as Sabretooth though slightly more beastile for the sake of continuity.

The sword arms were the best goddamn part. :awesome:

i liked the beginning of Deadpool. Hated Baraka at the end

UMK3 was my favorite of the Mortal Kombat games. Even if they did tweak Kabal so he couldn't one-combo kill you. :(

Started a new job and I hate it. It's much worse than my old job, which I stupidly quit after 4 years when I got bored even though I liked it. Big mistake. I don't want to get into details (not even my profession, but some of you know) because it's kind of personal and I'm not sure if they can check my Internet history, but I'm really conflicted. I need money really badly and it's a tough job market. I pounded the pavement for 3 months and turned down a couple positions, because I thought this was my best offer. But I honestly dread each day and I don't know how much I can take. I'm also told it's a sought after job, even though I can't understand why for the life of me. Jobs I held in the beginning of my career six years ago were more rewarding and interesting. In my mind, the only thing acceptable about it are the wages, which are on par or slightly less than my old job.

I've been there a week and I signed a year-long contract, but I think it will be a struggle to last through Christmas. Any suggestions for enduring a nightmare job?

(As for my old job, the position is filled and they're not currently hiring, so no dice here)

I suppose the only way to endure a crappy job is to make your home life so great it's worth it to stay. :( But I feel your pain and hope it gets better.

A week is not very long to know if a job is fitting or not unless it's really, really bad which it may be. I'd say give it a month before you make any firm decsions.

No, it's really, really bad. I've had bad jobs before that I didn't like but could tolerate. This one really is one of those jobs where after the first day you sit there thinking "what did I miss in that contract?" Not trying to dramatize it, but the feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach I have going into the office every morning I haven't felt since I was bullied in junior high.

I'm going to try and hold out for the money and just focus on my bills.

I've hated every job I've ever worked prior to my current one, so I feel for you.

I did have a job I quit after 5 days so I'm definitely not against a job so awful you want to quit after a week. It was a low-paying, low-class, low-everything kind of environment that I'm sure OSHA would have condemned as unreformable had they ever taken notice.

It's a one year contract but does it have any kind of clause or exemptions you can invoke to get out of it without penalty? I've never had to sign a work contract like that but I imagine there must be some kind of way out of it should the circumstances become this bad, and only after a week.

Alternatively you may just have to sweat it out and count the days to when you can quit. Find something positive to focus on and keep your mind otherwise occupied with better thoughts. It sounds like you'll be able to find another job next year when this is over.

I can quit, but I have to give a sixty day notice or there are major penalties. I don't want to identify it too much, but it's not in America so I'm on a work-visa. They can cancel that visa if I leave before the sixty day notice is up. But my last job was in this country, so I don't blame the work-culture or the system here. Of course if they find a replacement quickly, they can release me before that sixty day period elapses, but that's at their whim.

I don't think I can last a year, but I'll probably ride it out for a couple months, give notice and then ride out an even more awkward couple months and hope they don't try and screw me on the way out.
