Are Apples the "best" laptops?

Not at all. Apple makes good products, but they're nowhere near as good as what their price suggests. Unless you're in graphic design or some other digital art job there's really no need to get a computer that's twice the price with limited features. I know a lot of Apple fans are defensive when I say that, but it really is priced that high just because people buy into the name branding.

Of course that still comes down to personal preference. If you love their interface then it's nothing wrong with you spending the money if you feel it's the best. One person's mediocre could be another person's best, and when it comes to computer operating systems it's best to get whatever you like. I prefer Windows because it doesn't block anything, has a really smooth interface, and is much cheaper. Some people like Apple's layout better, so if it's worth it then more power to you. If you have never used Apple before it's a little bit of a learning curve, but with time you'll pick it up since it's just different as opposed to being hard. There's Linux which is cool, but unless you're into IT no need to go a route that is a higher learning curve.

I know there was one that I loved. I just can't remember whose it was.

I like Deadpool when he's just the right amount of snarky, serious and lethal. Too much out of balance of those three and he doesn't stand up too well. Too snarky he comes off as annoying, too serious he comes off as just another clone of super/action hero stereotypes. Too lethal and he's just too much of a killing machine which either is too serious or too comedic to be acceptable.
