I remember watching this movie when I was 10 years old, and after 20 years I've downloaded it, since I can't find any DVD release I can buy, and enjoyed it one more time.

My favorite segments are definately segment 4 and although incredibly sentimental segment 2 is among my favorites.

What are your opinions on this movie?
Which are your favorite segments and why?

When I was little, the 1st segment scared the s*** out of me.
It was when the guy went in the car and the guy with the scary face roars at him.

Also, the 4th segment, the best of the whole movie and widely known in pop culture made first by the Shat man.

It seems a little uneven watching it now. I loved Kick the Can.

Correction: Prologue.

That scraed the s*** out of me. :wow:

the whole gremlin on the plane wing scares the **** out of anyone...
hehehe

Lithgow also delivered one hell of a performance there.

you wanna know something funny. since both lithgow and shatner played the same part and seeing the same creature, they made fun of that tidbit on an episode of 3rd rock from the sun. on an episode of the show the aliens pick up 'the big giant head' at the airport, played brilliantly by shatner by the way. and lithgow asks how his flight was, and BGH replies, "it was fine except for the strange creature on the wing". now lithgow goes :wow: , "you saw it too?!"

BRILLIANT!! :woot:

It scared the **** out of me, but mostly because that chopper beheaded the two kids and the guy while filming.

I would've loved to see that episode. :wow:

William Shatner always pokes fun at himself and always breaks the fourth wall on Boston Legal. It's greatness.

This was one of my favourites as a kid and made sure to watch it whenever it was on TV.

I haven't watched the movie in a long time but I remember liking the first story and the plane one. Kick the Can was awfully boring and they ruined the story of the little boy with powers.

I used to like this movie as a kid, but in recent years I just can't watch it because I'm always reminded of the, um, little accident with John Landis.

Yeah, that happens to me too. Although I just watch something else and then change back when the plane segments starts.

Watched the film for the first time, the scariest part was the entire accident that happened when it was being made, i guess that sequence was set in vietnam and the accident is the reason we didn't get more of that part.

Kick the Can was very good, it was obviously directed by Steven Spielberg, the sequence in the plane is probably the most known and parodied Twilight Zone episode, while i liked it i didn't really find the monster scary, and am accostumed to the usual idea of small gremlins

And found his whole fight with the monster/ gremlin kind of weird, that happened in the plane's wing? Then how didn't he automatically fall off, and how did he get inside the plane again?

Yeah, I've seen the footage of Vic Morrow's death and while not very clear, it makes me skip that segment all the time now. Just makes me feel bad and makes Landis come off as a horrible director, for his directing practices anyway.

I like alot of Landis' movies, esp. American werewolf, which I consider the best werewolf film ever. But at least to me,he got away with causing the murder of Vic Morrow and those 2 kids. If I recall no one even went to jail or anything over that accident.

It was a tragic accident and one I'm pretty sure haunted him to the end. There was a legal case against several people but they were all aquitted. Civil cases too but settlements as well.

There were changes made in the aftermath though and it wasn't a completely fruitless attempt to hold them responsible.

When I found out what happened with the Landis segment, you cannot 'unsee' or 'un-feel' the tragedy behind it. I can't watch it without feeling uncomfortable.
