Action-Adventure Twister Reboot ‘Twisters’ | Universal Pictures

Hopefully continues to perform good.

The film was great in 4DX and I’m going to see it again in 4DX this weekend.

One of the best 4DX experiences I’ve ever had (and I typically watch every blockbuster at a 4DX theater). When, in an interview, the manager of 4DX said Twisters was one of their highlights I can easily see why (mentioned during promoting LOTR in 4DX). They always knock it out of the park when bringing natural disasters to life.

It was like a more advanced version of the Twister ride at Universal.

Saw this last night and it’s really well made film. They lean more in the drama and the conflicting dynamics between the characters which elevated a disaster movie-summer blockbuster.

That was quite a fun movie. Just a fun blockbuster, just like the original.

I greatly enjoyed the few shots that essentially took the shots of the fun chasers cutting off the suits in the original and doing them from the perspective of the suits.

You can just feel where the Helen Hunt negotiations fell apart in the planning for the movie. No offense to Maura Tierney, but it was clear that they were setting up a reunion to the first movie.

Feels a bit more emotional evocative than the original, with a focus on the aftermath of tornadoes, and the lead dealing with her PTSD of seeing her team killed. And I know one poster is going to be sad by the quick loss of Kiernan Shipka.

Quick review, no cow, 0/10.

And honestly, seeing the comments about the director about climate change pisses me off. The Weather Channel is constantly mentioning climate change. Just mentioning it should not be "political".

Call me crazy but I like this more than the OG. I said what i said! lol!

I think I like it more because I'm more endeared to these characters than Bill Paxton, Hunt and crew from the original. Not that there was anything wrong with them but I feel like we got to know Daisy Edgar, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos' characters a lot better. The drama felt better executed.

Damn this is going to BIG and after seeing it today I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being a mini TGM. It's a HUGE crowd-pleaser just like the original and should have great WOM in the upcoming weeks.

I personally really enjoyed it, but the original will always have a special place in my heart. Glenn Powell and Anthony Ramos stole the show IMO but this cast as a whole worked really well for the most part although I wasn't expecting that opening scene and I still wish we got to see more of a certain character.

Also, who knew Corenswet was great at a playing a complete *****e lol.

I don't think it could ever be Top Gun-sized breakout - the thrill factor of that movie's visuals is like impossible to match - but I do think it could be a big enough breakout to take a chunk out of Deadpool next weekend. That one's obviously still gonna be a huge hit, but with this as competition, maybe not the record-breaker some were expecting. Which would make me happy, ngl.

I feel like this movie is better if I find Glen Powell attractive...

I don't know how to break it to you Lily, but from the beginnings of cinema, movie stars have been people the audience enjoyed looking at for a couple hours. It's kind of a big factor.

Glen Powell for Indiana Jones! :o

He is strongly reminiscent of a young Harrison Ford in some scenes in this movie. The cheekbones, the five o’clock shadow…

But honestly if I had any say, he would be a dream Hal Jordan. He’s got the cockiness, the lantern jaw and the poise of the character. It’s a shame he probably won’t do it unless there’s a director he’s dying to work with.

As for the movie, it was ok. It was borderline remake of the first. ILM did a great job but the tornadoes in the 1996 film had more presence and intimidation. Chung has a deft hand with the character driven scenes, I thought Daisy Edgar Jones was underrated here.
