Two New "The Spectacular Spider-Man" Animated DVD Releases Set For March 2009

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has released initial details for The Spectacular Spider-Man: Rise of the Super-villains and The Spectacular Spider-Man: The Goblin Strikes, the next two The Spectacular Spider-Man DVD releases, both due to hit shelves on March 17th, 2009.

I think that it was mentioned that it will come out by the end of April, this may be false, because I don't recall where I heard it. And it would be a smart move.. to release all the DVD's before the start of Season 2 in US.

So, let me get this straight: the new volumes that are to come will just be episodes? No movie like the first one (The Attack of the Lizard)? Why? Does that mean there will be no extra/deleted scenes? And what about the gun shots? Will they sound like lasers or real guns?

I think going with Episodes is a smart move: you can then watch them at your own pace rather then going through a chapter select for a specific episode. Makes it less confusing for new viewers and shows that it's a show not a DTV Movie. We want this to get picked up for season 3, so would be better for people to know its on the air.

Also good idea to release the DvD's before season 2 airs.

I'm still holding out for the boxset!

I hate these seperate "volumes" just mashing together 3-4 episodes together.

I know its the smart move to gain some buisness, some attention to the show and overal, money.

But i rather just throw maybe the volumes out with a season box set.
