The Dark Knight Two-Suits???

Half and Half

  • Yes – Has to be half and half.

  • No- Tommy Lee ruined the half and half. Take him to The Mens Warehouse.

  • Doesn’t matter as long as his face is scared and he has a coin.

ha ha, right on Socko. I agree that the two suit hasn't worked cinematically (yet, at least) and its not necessary to define the character. If they end up doing a two suit, I like nickyg614's idea of personally mangled as opposed to a professionally tailored two suit.

For a climax scene, maybe. I'd be wary.

This kind of thing can bring a carefully constructed reality crashing down, it's VERY different to the Joker's version of self-expression.

I'd much rather cinematography and acting be the main methods to accentuate a split personality. Camera angles, shadow, different voices and expressions. If this is all working right then a split suit might be over-the-top or forceful or tacky. Like, WE GET IT, he's Two-Face, please don't reduce him to a cartoon.

Giving him a split suit at the end of the film just for the sake of it being the climax wouldn't work out. Remember when Schumacher always gave everyone different suits and costumes for the last scene.

The rest of your post points out very interesting things. I agree.

Ok, here's what Nolan should do to get Two Face right...the opposite of what Schumacher did.
It's that mentality that may just get us a Joker in white makeup and hairdye.

But, I see what you're saying. And, as I said, you can have the best of both worlds if you just have him mutilate one half of a regular business suit.

it should simply look like if someone had acid thrown in their face. not like in the BF world where acid is thrown evenly and looks bright under your neon lights. so like socko said....no schumacher.

nothing wrong with joker in makeup and hair dye. again, just matching the comics is not a vision. it's been done. and again, we are into the character, not what he looks like. we are not here complaining that bale had a different bat symbol on his chest, or had a different use for his cape, or even that his car didnt have fins. it's the character that we need to have.

It's completely different with Joker. I personally loved Burton's take on Batman. Some things will stay and some things will go. As for Schumacher, I honestly don't see too many things at all that should stay from his universe that wasn't already there. And even if Joker does have makeup in this film, I won't be too bothered.

I do agree that Two Face mutilating half of the suit could work well, and it would/should looks sewn together in the back.

two FACE's suit is irrelevant. it's his face and demeanor we should be concerned with.

What's to be concerned about? I think he's gonna be sweet and i'm not going to worry about it.

I agree that the acid should look like it was thrown into his face not any straight lines thank-you. I don't know about the half suit. I like the idea of him wearing the suit that he could have been wearing when the acid gets thrown in his face. It would partially anyway damage the suit. However, it seems to me that part of the suit would just have holes in it and that would seem kind of... I don't know weird. Obviously, please do not give us the cheetah outfil PLEASE! I don't mind the one suit actually. If the man has half of his face burned off I think everyone will get the picture. The coin I think will also help to show that this man has s spilt personality I guess you could say.

I only say a climax scene because that's when the most extreme aspects of a villain can manifest for the best advantage. They're at their biggest and baddest. Scarecrow in BB is the perfect model and I expect we'll get something similair in TDK, with the classic and full blown maniacal Joker we know from the comics being revealed at the end.

Saving the extreme aspects for the end means it isn't overkill, you preserve the impact of something wacky and symbolic for when it's needed most.

I'm more partial to him having either the TLH half-suit or something similarly dark, or just a normal suit. I could dig it either way as long as it isn't too campy.

Ah, completely forgot about Scarecrow! Good point.

You know you liked the cheetah suit:cwink:

How about if only his tie is two-colored? It would be alot less flamboyant but still do the character justice.

Or possibly a scene where he can't decide between two suits so he splits the jackets in half and staples/sews them together.

I'd actually prefer if his tie was just one color, but that's just my opinion.

I'd say either all black with one side ripped/butchered with acid burns or just one side black, other side pinstriped.

i like the black suit with one side pinstriped.

with a red tie

How about this type of suit?
