But what happens when the Klingons invade Africa?
hmmm.... We invite Belanna Torres over to my place, for some rough Klingon mating rituals.

Iraq was verry libral well into the 90's .. it was the people who turned on the US and fell to the more radical teachings..Ummm...no. Saddam brought that upon himself by invading Kuwait and going to war with Iran.
Sadly, that is very true.
that's just politics.
Is it true, and I'm glad at least someone else can see that.
Saying "that's just politics" implies that you accept that kind of action. That's disgusting and sad.
That's the reaction they want, though. They know they've completely dropped the ball for the past several years, and by saying they're going to "impose sanctions", they're just working to get back some approval points. Bush doesn't care. The U.S. government (Democrats included) don't care. It's nothing more than a glorified photo-op.
Anyone fooled into thinking this is going to be the start of a solution is kidding themselves.

Fact: in bagdad in 1991 only about 10% of all women wore Hijab, Today its closetoo 100%.. and Burqa was almost unheard off.. but today.. diffrent story

i belive Iraq had the highes educated women of the middel east ever aswell..It's that freaking Sh.ite majority. They are so freaking backwards. The most reasonable people over there were the Saddam followers. The only reason for that progress in the 90's was that they had a dictator who forced it on them. If it had been a democracy women wouldn't have even been allowed to read.
During Saddam's first 15 years in power the women's literacy rate actually jumped from 5% to 70%. The guy was nuts, but the reality is that what it took.
Yeah, but being disgusted, sad and impotent to do anything about it is also history.
I tried to yell at a rock once to get it to stop being a rock but all that happened was my voice got horse and the rock laughed at me. (Man I should cut back on the acid)
I didn't say I accepted it. It's just a realization of reality. What I meant by the statement, was that that kind of behavior is not exclusive to the situatin with Darfur. It's like that for every issue.
So why not do something about it?
I plan to live a life off political involvement.
Then why even have an opinion?
I'm curious, Photo and Spider, what are your ideas of how to effectively change things for the better?
I'm not trying to be snide or a wise-ass (though I know that's how I always come across) I'm honestly curious.
Not sure where to begin with that statement.
Nutshell simple answers. I'm always curious if people have something better than protest, deride, humiliate and make an ass out of themselves as a way of affecting political change.
yeah that's what I meant. I accidentally hit the "f" twice. I'm a fast typer, and I've had this crappy keyboard for the last few months.
It irritates the hell out of me.

and here is my solution to the energy crisis. Once we acheived that, I believe the thing to do is get out of the middle east all together untill they are ready to work with us, on the first link, or at least behave in a civilized manner. I don't think one nation can modernize another region over night the way we are trying.

I sent it to hundreds of people on Hillary's friend list, asking them to send her a message saying they support it, but nothing happened, other than a mention in the Wall Street Journal and mention on some website run by some activist group.
Ah, I got you now.
We should have learned something from the genocide of WWII. The longer we wait to do anything (if we do anything at all), the worse things become. This genocide in Darfur has been going on for at least 4 years now.
What we should have done is not let it get this far. We didn't, and hindsight should be 20/20. It's not. Instead we're going to "impose sanctions". That's disgraceful.
Now, you asked what I think we should do. I'm not a military expert, so specifics are going to be a little on the wayside, here. I think we should end the conflict, plain and simple. How you go about doing, that is not for me to decide. But the Sudanese government and the Janjaweed need to be dealt with.
I like the genetic mutant plant idea, but then I've also seen attack of the killer tomatoes so it could go either way.
The education idea is too government for my taste but I agree if you want change you need to start with education.
Couldn't see the third part. I don't have myspace (I thought that was only for losers and pedofiles?)
Nice thoughts all, seem to be focused on technology to save our asses though.
I agree, not to sound all super imperialistic and agressive but there are plenty of places where a good invasion and ass-kicking could solve a whole lot of problems overnight. Differences aside, a bullet sounds the same in any language, and that's the only way to get through to some of these monsters.
