Does anyone remember the speech Superman gave to the
President of the United State at the end of the movie 2 ?
If so, in staying in continuity would that speech make
Superman a liar in this current film?

hehe, in some sense, I guess... but they also say that there's no direct links to superman 2...

I guess you could pretend that only the end of Superman II where he delivers the speech about not letting us down again happens AFTER the events in Superman Returns, even though the events of Superman II happen before.
