it is a shame that they didnt try to get top notch or even middle notch talent on this. Not professional animators...not even professional voice actors....this came across as a weak fanfilm...and I have seen better

Wow, that was a letdown. The VAs were surprisingly weak and the animation was very outdated.

And people beat up JLU when it makes an uneven episode. It could worse. It could be a lot worse.

I agree, i liked this movie, & saw nothing wrong it. like you said slyspyder. marvel is new to this, & it will take them time to catch thier wave & set it in stone.
Im sure the next UA will be better, as for all of the other future dtv's that are coming.

& maybe we'll see a series hit the airwaves. but i wish some posters will cut marvel some slack. cause really they could say the heck with it & do nothing. then psoters would really have something to complain about.

Marvel is in no way new to animation genre, Avenger or not. Hell, the Avengers have been animated plenty of times, as far back as '66. The problem is, when you dont have writers who know these characters and understand their stories, you get stuff like this. People need to remember, its not that DC has superior characters. Its because there are guys like Bruce Timm, James Tucker, Dwayne McDuffie, who bust their asses off to get the stories right, thats why BTAS, STAS and JLU are so good. When you dont have fans in control of the show, you get half assed stuff like The Batman. The 90s Spider-man and X-men were great because actual comic book writers worked on them.

When people dont get it, you get crap like this.

The following are the reasons it sucked:

I have no problem with it nog being a carbon copy of the comics or anything like that. I didn't mind the animation either.

The problem is it was just....bad. The story was cliche (rag tag group has to come together to save the world). It was rushed as well (We knew nothing about the aliens motivations, the character's pasts, etc). There was no character developments. Every character was a horrible cliche (You had the loner, the wise-ass arrogant "I should be the leader" guy. The uncertain, fish out of water leader. The loner. The tough girl. The military hard ass, yet loveable authoritarian, and oh yea, ANOTHER LONER). And finally, it was anti-climactic. The alien threat, that the entire movie built up to...was done in about 5 minutes with very little troube. Then the Hulk went crazy out of no where.

I seriously wonder if the producers pretty much said:

Producer 1: Aliens defeated! We, are, outta here!
Producer 2: Umm, chief, the run time is only about 50 minutes.
Producer 1:..........oh......ummm.....JUST TURN THE HULK EVIL! THAT'LL KILL SOME TIME!

So yea...end result...bad movie.

Oh...and Thor burped...I mean...comeon. Burp jokes weren't funny when I was six. They sure as hell aren't funny now.

Julian McMahon,Michael Chiklis,Chris Evans,and Ioan Gruffud are all awesome actors. Problem was two of them were given crap to work with.
