Ultimate FanCast for a Live-Action DRAGONBALL Film-Series

Have been thinking about this for a long time. Let me know what you think about my choices. Alternate suggestions are welcome. Especially for those who think that this is a white washing compilation: i just couldn't find fitting black actors who i thought they'd fit for the roles.

Anywho, fairly certain David was being sarcastic.
I figured you'd get another mixed race kid for Goten given your cast for Goku and the rest of his family.
Didn't even know Alexandra had a brother who acted.
Elizabeth Olsen, aside, team Vegeta is perfect. I just won't be able to take Statham in that kind of ridiculous wig seriously let alone all the other times he's worn one.
Steven Yeun as Krillin is another great joke, but I guess he's the right fit if they just crop his bald head onto some other actor's body.

Everyone else seems fine for the most part.

Jason Statham as Vegeta is perfect casting if you ask me just like casting Leo Howard as his son Trunks is perfect casting too and for Bulma I would have gone with Kaley Cuoco

Android 18 I would have gone with Scarlett Johansson, Android 17 I would have gone with Ian Somerhalder and as Android 16 I would probably go with an unknown in that role

Cell I would go with Benedict Cumberbatch and as Frieza I would go with Eddie Redmayne

But the rest of your fan cast I actually enjoy

I wouldn't want him to have the long hair in the films anyway. I'd prefer Vegetas haircut from GT. Would look better, more realistic and not too exaggerated.

^ Yeah, Dragon Ball is definitely a better starting point. The various sagas are fare more entertaining and less repetitive and the cast is ridiculously colorful and fun.

Even though I'd love to see my dude Raditz on the big screen. That guy's the ****, I don't care what anybody else says. Aidan Turner, not sure he would do him justice.

How about Jon Foo as Goku? Jason Statham as Vegeta I love that a lot but Jason Momoa instead of him as Bardock he should definitely be cast as Raditz but for Bardock I would go with Hugh Jackman

Maika Monroe as 18 is a no from me. She was cringe worthy as a "badass" chick in The 5th Wave. She is a great scream queen though.

Maika Monroe as Android 18 gets my vote too but for Android 17 I would go with Jamie Campbell Bower instead as Android 17 but for Android 16 you would probably have to cast an unknown in the role

Actually or should I say technically, Goku, as well as many of the characters are not Asian. they are alien races. Saiyan, Namekian, etc. The only definitive Asian argument is that it is based on a Manga/anime created by asians.

Chatwin he was not that bad as Goku but let's be honest Dragonball Evolution was a bad movie bad script and everything so why bring him back as Goku? Emmy Rossum if anything she was bad as Bulma if you ask me but as for James Marsters he was actually perfect as Piccolo

Eh, I'm sorry but no director could make Chatwin work as Goku.

Also, as petty as this sound I think Android 17 and Android 18 should look alike as much as it is possible. That's why they should just get an actual couple of siblings for the role, is this too much to ask for.

He certainly looks the part. How's he as an actor though? I mean, not that the Goku role needs a method actor, but still.

Yeah I agree. The problem with DBE was not Chatwin and Marsters. It was bad writing. I doubt either would return, but as I said before I'd be fine with them getting a do over, I honestly enjoyed those two including whoever played Yamcha in their roles. I'm totally open to any cast that has been mentioned in here as long as the director and writers give us a more faithful adaption. I want a good DB/DBZ series of films. If done right it could be as solid and long as the Marvel universe and to me that would be epic. I don't mind some freedom of creativity, but I want a much closer and better adaption. Maybe one day, maybe not.

Actually that's my thought too. I'd start with the trio of goku, bulma and yamcha as main characters and with tao pai pai and the red ribbon army as villains. (i just couldn't find a fitting actor for kid goku :/)

This is the perfect set up for a whole new Dragonball franchise...perfect approach as far as I'm concerned

For Goku, I'd probably use Steve Terada if I was casting:

He bares a pretty solid resemblance to the character, he's Japanese-American so English isn't a problem for him and in interviews as well as his time on America's Best Dance crew, he showed he has a very similar cheerful demeanor required for the character.

Also an excellent martial artists with the fireball spikes in his hair being a plus.
