Homecoming "Uncle" Ben Parker casting ideas?

That might sound good in theory but I wonder how that would work. An origin is basically a first act, how do you make it a 2 hour movie and keeping it interesting?

The same way any other character driven film does.

I honestly think they should have gone with an origin story, simply because we're getting three full movies all taking place in high school, soo..

No one said we were getting three full movies in HS, so....

Mike and others yes this is not an origin story film. That doesn't automatically mean we will never ever see ben in the flesh or do the occasional flash backs for a scene or two with ben. Or peter having a dream or vision of ben. I am sure we are bound to see ben pop up in minor spots over a few films. No way marvel would totally cut the character out all together.

Heck I and others brought up if the first film uses mysterio that is a great way to have ben pop up. Either in a dream peter has during the film. Or peter thinks he sees ben or mysterio gases peter and he sees him. There is plently of ways to still include ben into mcu world. And not drag out origin stuff. Which also with ben I am sure in solo film or some later time we get a flash back of peter getting bit. So marvel can put the mcu stamp on it.

no to him i like him as a actor but i couldnt see him doing it, plus with how old marrisa is and how old sly is that is to much of a difference.

Ben is Peter's blood uncle. Stallone is Italian and clearly looks it. That means if he's Richard Parker's brother, then Richard is also Italian. Peter is Richard's son, meaning he should also look Italian. Tom Holland does not look remotely Italian.

well sly is what somewhere in the 65 to70+ range right. I doubt they would cast him that far off from marissa. We are if we see ben which i do want he likely be 50-60 yrs old range for the actor and character.

The problem is in that we already have seen two versions of classic uncle Ben, in MCU version they can use Ultimate Ben Parker, who is a tuff & pumped guy.
And Sly's age is not a problem, they look wonderfull together:

I wouldn't really say that Gemma Arterton looks Italian though. She looks quite like an English rose with pale skin etc.

i doubt though sly would be up for a comic book film, let alone what likely be minor role over a few films as cameo type deal. Plus i still bet they would want to have someone closer to tomei age then way older. Plus as much as i may like some of sly work i really couldnt picture him as ben with his look and accent and what not.

If they do a repeat of the wrestling scene from Spidey's origin, Peter could use some of the boxing skills that his Uncle Ben taught him.

Maybe Uncle Ben fought Jack Murdock in the past.
