i thought it was kind strange when the film took place in the daylight for a couple of minutes, it didn't feel underworld to me. Did Lucian have the 'V' brand on his arm in the film?
Lol you weren't the only one. When that scene came up and Lucian breaks through the window in the sunlight and takes the death dealers with him I was like wait a second this is "off". And when they got to the edge of the woods I was like ok I never realized it but this is the first time there has been a daylight scene in these films. Although, I think it added to it and was a nice contrast. Plus, we get the amazing moment where Victor is fighting against his limitations and is standing on the ledge and allowing the sun to burn him as he stares down upon Lucian and his guard says "My Lord" to remind him that he shouldn't do that and then Victor very creepily sinks back into the darkness. It really shows that at that moment Victor knows that even though Lucian is in his eyes is beneath him he has a greater weakness.
Also, did anyone else love the political scenes. I loved the scenes with the council. In the first movie we heard about the council, but never really saw them except for their slaughter on the train. And in this movie we finally get to see the previous council in action. It gave the Vampires more of a reality. These aren't just monsters. They know how to run things. I don't know why, but these scenes really pushed the film up a notch or two.
And I have to mention Tanus (sp). Lol I love his character and I had no idea he was in this film til recently and I figured it would just be a cameo, but he was prominent. And I absolutely loved the scene where Victor has his armor on and is walking outside and passes Tanus who is grabbing his scrolls and Victor grabs him and says "there are far more pressing issues than your precious scrolls!" It was an interestingly snide moment from Victor to Tanus. The only thing I really regret not seeing in this film regarding Tanus is that we didnt see him banished. Once he showed up on screen and he started doing his part I figured he was banished for helping Lucian and Sonja then he wasn't so now I'm wondering what he was banished for. I would love to have seen him get banished, however, I understand that it wasn't important for this story and wasn't neccessary to be shown. I didn't count off any points over it. Oeverall, I gave the film a 9/10. That might seem kind of high, but I appreciated the story, and heavily enjoyed the fact that here was a prequel that did what it was suppossed to do. It expanded the history without ****ing up continuity beyond repair.

t: Sorry, I have never watched any of these films, but I like him as an actor, so I might watch this.
