Hey guys! I have started a recent project working with the he-man fans on another forum, so I thought i would share here . I'm looking to start a new diorama concept. I found this unproduced Treehouse Playset pic. I might try making this for the MOTUC figures. But I need some help with some concept ideas , because in some areas of the playset we dont have alot of details.

1. They call it a treehouse playset, but the concept looks like it has a rock design. In which Im cool with, but I need more details.
2. In the pic below I have some areas I love to get some opinions on. Any drawing or ideas will help in the design.
3. I would like to design this in a wall hanging diorama.
4. Now this looks to be a masters playset. Maybe we could do a hero treehouse concept with more of a tree outline with rock. Then we would could do more of villian rock dark versions.
5. Who is the guardian of this playset .......... if its a tree house design , should it be Mossman. ................who could be the villian for the dark version. Or should have a new orginal character for this.

OK, here's my take. Now, whether or not you wanna go with the "treehouse" theme is the question. Personally I could see this being a base for Stratos. If I'm not mistaken he's apparently the last of his species, or one of the last. Kinda like Martian Manhunter from the Justice League was (supposed to be). The weaponry (canon and claw) and the satellite could be the work of Man At Arms, having assisted in making Stratos' "home" a fort in case of an incoming attack. The claw could technically be for lifting heavy objects from the ground up to his base like cases of rations or barrels of water or whatever a man-bear-bird drinks. Don't get me lying to you though, I don't remember any other fliers other than the big bumblebee guy but he'd live in a hive community anyway. From what I vaguely remember he wasn't the last of his people so with him having a community to live and thrive in I'd say Stratos is a great candidate for such a high-placed base. I'd like to take out the brick/stone look and incoporate more of a tree trunk look. As if the main center of the base was carved into this massively huge tree deep in a beautiful Eternian forest near a waterfall. The big "birdface" thats above the door could be changed up to match better with Stratos. Maybe after a little research into Stratos' backstory we could make some sort of crest or emblem that represents his race. And that little skullface at the very top can come off. Save it for the evil base. ;)

Speaking of an evil one how about it being basically a cave base up high on the side of a mountain. For instance you have this valley between two mountains and up high on one of the mountains theirs this cave that you get to through tunnels in the mountain. If you've ever seen Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom there's the part where Indy, Willie and Short Round are in a mine cart and through a miracle they survive one hellacious ride. At the end of the ride they quickly have to run for safety since theirs a massive wave of water filling the tunnels. They run to what appears to be an exit but in fact its a hole, or cave, on the side of that mountain which might I say isn't even remotely close to the ground. So somehow or another it can be designed to have a moveable "closure" thats disguised from the outside to cover the hole and make it seem as if there is no cave but with a latch or lever the closure moves and the bad guys stand and take aim at any unsuspecting hero passing by. There can be a spy hole for Tri Clops to zero in on those that pass by so he can give his cohorts the signal to begin the ambush.

I'll try to sketch out some ideas. Now you have me wanting to build one for myself.

Well PD, I had my info all wrong. Apparently its not Stratos thats the last of his kind. Here's his bio courtesy of mattycollector.som (BTW he's up for sale)

Stratos® Bio
Real Name: Stratos® of the House of Avion

Lord of Avion, a civilization of winged simians who live high on the peaks of the Mystic Mountains, Stratos® is a brave honorable warrior allied with King Randor™. Although all Avions have the ability to fly using the magical Emerald Staff, many, including Stratos®, have augmented their armor with rocket packs and jets to increase their speed and distance. As a member of the Masters of the Universe®, Stratos® fights bravely against the evil forces of Skeletor®.

Soooo, I guess my mountain cave idea could work for this base for Stratos and his man-chimp-bird friends.

Well in the 200x cartoon Stratos and family live at Avion. So I drawing up a concept right now for a Avion Style version of the diorama

After some debating with the Heman fans, alot of concepts have hit the table. a secret entrance to Grayskull dio, or Snake mountain, a mossman/evilseed verision since its consider as a treehouse playset.
So here we are in the first stages .... I'm thinking for my first piece, I will go with the orginal concept. I have ideas of doing a Grayskull backdoor concept, and evil one, and maybe a couple of more.
Iin the first pic you see a comparsion from orginal drawing to one I came up with. Now the dimensions are roughly 20 inches wide and about 29'' tall. Ther is still plenty of room for input. This drawing is done on a sheet of foamcore board. I will use as a template for size and concept design.
Since the orginal work doesn't show a certain amount of details, I will add some myself to give it a little more character. For example its called a treehouse playset but it looks like its made out of more rock. So i will combine the two. I will have a mixture of rock , wood, vines etc etc.
Pplease any input is welcome. This will be a wall hanging diorama, and I will show how to do this in the mist of the project.

IMO I think if you're gonna have the big bird face above the entrance you should take out the smaller face up top. It doesn't mesh well IMO.

I might make the small face above like slightly blend into the rocks .......and not stand out like it does in the picture. What is awesome about this pics not having alot of details ..... we can go in any direction..... should be fun! lol
