This thread is to list all unresolved plot points from the previous films that you would hope are addressed in The Avengers.

Here's my list:

Iron Man:
1) Pepper and Tony's status
2) War Machine/Rhodey? Why wouldnt the military want a soldier like him over a carefree playboy like Stark? Especially if they would rather take Blonsky over Banner just because of the military angle.
3) Why the sudden change of heart on accepting Stark?

Hulk
1) What happened to Betty? Did she just move on?

Thor
1) With Bifrost gone, how did Thor get here?
2) What about Jane? We last see Thor pining for her and vice versa. Did they just forget about each other?

Captain America
1) What happened to Peggy and/or the Commandos?

I think all the relationship status's are still apparent, they dont need to be made a big deal of for the avengers, I just assume when the heroes have downtime they'd be with there female counterpart. And I like to imagine so would black widow..she'd also be with a female counter-part. :awesome:

The sudden change on accepting Stark for the Avengers initiative is that Fury sees the threat is so great they need Iron Man as part of it, I'm fairly sure.

They're gonna directly address that, it was even brought up in the latest trailer. Plus, WM is just a soldier in a suit. Tony is the genius.

Forgot one, What happened to the Destroyer After Thor defeated it? You see it fall to the ground but that's it.

To be honest the only one of those that really should be addressed is how Thor got to Earth.

REALLY hoping it's via a spinning hammer. lol

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but IMO it's about time for Thor figures out how to open his own portals. Can't be relying on other people to travel back and forth.

Agreed w/ PoniBoy, reading the Comics, you'll see one of MJOLNIR's enchanments is that it has the Power to open Portals...Heimdall probably saw Loki in Germany & sent Thor down to get him

Wait till Thor figures out how to open Natalie Portman's portals

This drink! I like it! ANOTHER!

Unresolved storylines? The Leader.

Sounds like most of these issues are being resolved in the prequel comic, offscreen

If I remember correctly from an interview with Feige and Johnston, Peggy is still alive(clearly old though). I think that will open the door to introduce Sharon Carter. I would guess most the commandos are old and/or dead.

Maybe Thor developed the ability to create portals with Mjolnir finally

I agree. Presumably Thor will go back to Earth in Thor 2 and maybe even TA2 (if they want to make the sequel), and they can't come up with new ideas on how to bring him to Midgard. Why not just say that Mjolnir has a new enchantment that gives him the power of teleportation and be done with that?

I don't really think the Tony/Pepper relationship counts as "unresolved." The last movie ended with them together. There is no questions begged by it.

Oooo really? What did he look like? Same old Sterns or more like the Leader?

Basically Natasha is sent by Fury to stop Ross getting custody of Banner, she arrives as he is being carted off on the stretcher and then Fury tells her to go and make sure all the vials are destroyed, she arrives as Abomination attacks and then finds Sterns (looks similar to the movie counterpart now with the larger head) under rubble saying 'help me'. She uncovers him and he says '...my goodness aren't you pretty..'

I'd recommend getting them Kirmit if you have a phone capable of downloaded the Marvel App, they only cost 63p each and there are only 8, out about Tuesday night weekly and the 1st is free.

Great to read if you want to know how all the films connect without guessing!

What happened to all the samples of Banner's blood that Stearns had in his lab? And how did they get rid of Abomination?

It's likely that SHIELD confiscated the samples, or that they were destroyed during Blonsky's rampage.

And in the novel of TIH, it says that Tony Stark provided the technology towards creating a cage that would hold the Abomination.

As of what was established in "The Consultant", Blonsky is currently still in General Ross's custody.

Can someone explain to me the Cosmic Cube's timeline? How does it end up behind that wall in Norway? Schmidt mentioned it was "the jewel of Odin's treasure room". Are we to assume the events of Thor, specifically the scenes on Asgard, did not take place at the same time as the events of 21st century Earth, and they were actually hundreds of years in the past...Earth time?
