Untitled Star Wars Net Gen test footage! QUICKLY!

It looks a little too over the top, and the stabing your saber into the ground and creating a force shockwave is pretty lame.

Sort of why I would rather not play a Jedi for once in my SW game experience. Because sooner or later it was destined that they were going to make Jedi seem so unstoppable that the game would hardly look like much of a challenge..

Only other thing I can see as being a challenge is other Jedi.. which is pretty lame.. because many Jedi have had their asses whooped, or near whooped, by bounty hunters in their time.. but if that's all a Jedi needs to do to kill their opponents.. it'd sort of be cheesy.

The effects look kick ass.. but otherwise, it'd make for a grossly easy game.

It's Star Wars....nothing is to over the top. If you can play Metal Gear and find everything in those games a-ok and not "over the top" then you can play anything.

:p

Of course there are going to be limitations. Maybe you're rewarded for playing a certain way so you're not just flinging every enemy left and right with the force as Mr./Mrs. Unstoppable.

Yeah, I'm sure the video was JUST showing people what could be possible. We're not going to start the game as an uber powerful, ship disrtoying Jedi.

Yeah, but still.. has to be some kind of limit on how much power you can have even at end game.. Because if you can basically rip and twist the world to your own whim at end game, that really wouldn't reflect the power of Jedi.

Yes, Jedi are damn strong.. But I have yet to know of any Jedi that is THAT strong, or has ever been THAT strong.

It just seemed to over the top relative to how the force users are portrayed in like the movies and everything else SW.

The Emperor is the only one who ever showed object manipulation to the same degree as what was in that trailer thingy.

Hmmm... if everyone's on that UBER Force-TK, then what's the point in having a lightsaber guys? What's the point in sneaking around? Great Pre-vis, but I'm hoping they have more in store for our gameplay than forcepowering people around.

If they have a mechanic for you to throw people into the background and then rip the background away with them, I take it all back :)

Good find...

They're just showing off the force powers b/c it's the one thing that has always been underdone in a star wars games. In pretty much every game all you do is force push and force lightning. Levitating your opponents and throwing them around is pretty new to a jedi game.

Luke Skywalker after ROTJ
Jacen Solo
Lord Nyax
All three are WAY more powerfull than that.

I never personally saw any of the movies indicate this.. and they're usually basing the games off of the scales of the movies.

And since Yoda was considered one of the strongest Jedi to ever walk the.. eh, universe, and his powers were hardly 1/3 of this.. :(

Does seem a little over-powered if you scale it to the movies. And plus, the main things you'd be fighting anyways would be stormtroopers/imperial troops.. so I can't see how you should be able to absolutely massacre them like that.

Why base it of the movies when you can base it on 25+ years of history formed in the novels, comics, and video games?
No, they do not seem overly powerful, they seem just right actually.

Suh-weet. Does anybody know if it's being released for all next-gens?

How does that seem just right when Jedi have historically had their asses handed to them by many a bounty hunter?

If that's true, most Jedi can't be THAT strong.

Which books have you been reading?
There are some Jedi who are strong in seeing the future, others who aid in battle by trying to change fate by going into meditation, then there are others who are very strong in the physical aspects of the force.
Some are insanely skilled with a lightsaber, others are strong in the "lifting objects" department.

Basically every Boba Fett, or Bounty Hunters Guild related book in the genre. :(

Jedi just bore me a bit. Most of them are as deep as a puddle in Arizona. But, I just don't see how Jedi should be allowed to basically strong arm (with ease, even) any opponent like that, even if they are just stormtroopers. Give the ol' stormies more credit than that.

Also kills any stealth or challenging aspect of the game when you can masquerade with unstoppable force powers, kicking everyone standing in your way's asses at whim. I liked the balance of the KOTORs.. even if you were a Jedi, you have to put some effort into killing opponents.. average humans or not. :(

Have you read Star Wars:Purge
Vader almost gets owned, until about 200 Stormtroopers show up and lights the place up like a Christmas tree.
There are many Jedi who do not fight, and these are the ones that are usually hunted down. They have some saber training, but are otherwise weak.
Bounty Hunters usually go after them.
They leave the powerful Jedi to Vader and His Executioners.
What we see at Geonosis is only a small portion of the Jedi, there are about 10,000 in the entire order, there were only about 200 at the battle.
Have you seen Clone Wars?

Yeah. But I thought that most Jedi were basically wiped out around the time of the beginning of the Fourth Movie/End of Ep. III? :(
