She's pretty. Everything else? Meh.

Makes me wish Life was still on the air.

Damn, she's fine as hell.

The plot itself doesn't interest me but Sarah Shahi does!

the chick is indeed very pretty. although the premise of the show looks pretty dumb.

I hate law shows...even though she looks amazing, I can't bring myself to watch it.

seriously....Damian Lewis made Det. Crews one of the most interesting characters on TV

but Sarah Shahi is fine as hell, so Ill check it out

Did anybody watch this? Is it worth investing time in?

If I didn't follow WAY too many shows for my own good already, I'd jump right in (THANK GOODNES for DVRs). The only reason I'm even considering it is because USA has been great with their choices lately, and I loved Sarah in "Life." This show's premise is a bit thin though.

I didn't see it last night but I will watch it on Hulu.

Okay, finally got around to watching what was on my DVR.

It was actually pretty good. Fits in well with USA's "Characters Welcome" theme. This is definitely a character-driven show.

I watched the pilot for this on Hulu today. It's not bad. It has some very annoying quirks, like all of the Wizard of Oz references, but at its core it's a solid premise. I'm interested to see more of the relationship between Kate and her stepmother as it develops past mutual loathing.

I really wish I could watch thie show. I love Sarah. But I cannot stand these millions of Crime/Court dramas. They are the Starbucks of TV.

The main plot centers around law, & court situations correct?

It's actually more about a lawyer who doesn't want to be a lawyer because she doesn't see law and legality as absolute as what's on paper.

I recommend you watch it first, before you define it. Although there were scenes in a courtroom, that took up less than 5 minutes of the two-hour premiere altogether. As a matter of fact, the show centers around the fact that issues can be handled OUT of court, and are oftentimes better served by doing so.

Shahi's character is a mediator. She settles disputes out of court in ways that leave all parties at least somewhat happy. Her whole personality seems to hinge on the idea that it's the spirit of the law, not the letter, that deserves to be enforced. For example, she "mediates" a hold-up at her coffee shop near the beginning in a way that lets the thief get away but costs the shop owner very little and avoids any bloodshed.

There are lawyers and courtrooms involved because she still works for a law firm and has to deal with legal issues, but it's definitely not a courtroom drama like (half of) Law & Order or The Practice.

This show is way too bland and vanilla. They need to make the clients more involved like on In Plain Sight. She just seems to be running in heels from quriky client to quirky client.

I chalk that up to the fact that it was the pilot. They had to establish the formula of the show. Now that that's out of the way, they can get deeper into the characters and try different things with the clients and cases and such.

My main fear for this show is that they're gonna make that Australian guy a love interest. God, that guy was annoying.

I loved the pilot. I can actually see myself watching this show. The only thing I didn't like was the character Leo's "nerdism". Just because he likes D&D doesn't mean he has to talk to his D&D buddies in a "medieval" way. Also he claimed that the Planeswalker cards in Magic the Gathering were hard to get. Yeah, maybe if you're buying booster packs but you can just buy singles online and he looks like he has enough money to buy them.

I agree. Most pilots end up seeming lame compared to future episodes because they have to set the stage for upcoming storylines.

He didn't seem that annoying to me. A bit too persistent though.

Hey guys. I'm Bryce and work with USA. I'm glad to hear what you guys thought of the Fairly Legal premiere. We're pretty excited about seeing how this show does (and getting to work with Sarah Shahi).

Carrrnuttt, you put it perfectly when you said "it's actually more about a lawyer who doesn't want to be a lawyer because she doesn't see law and legality as absolute as what's on paper." I'm not a huge law drama person either but I think this puts a nice unique spin on it.

For those of you that haven't caught an episode yet, both the premiere and last night's episode are online at USA.com (http://www.usanetwork.com/series/fairlylegal/video/fullep/) Check it out and definitely let me know what you guys thought. I should have some cool exclusive stuff to post next week but until then have a good weekend!

You and I might understand how this kind of "nerdism" works in real life, but I can understand how they have to "play it up" for TV for the mass audience.

It's really annoying, though. If you don't know anything about actual geeks, don't use them in the show. :o

I'm hoping it's just to establish Leo's nerd status as well as police connections in the pilot. Here's hoping that they don't "play it up" like they did, and just simply have him "use his connections" without showing the "meta-speak" BS.

Heh heh...only reason I bothered to watch it. And according to hulu the episodes after #2 won't show up until 30 days after initially airing on USA, so I won't be keeping up with it much.
