Vaughn for Bond 22 director job?

Yesterday I was able to meet up with some of my friends in Cambridge. They are taking a bit of a summer break before they start work on some smaller stuff for British television. They left the Bond production a while back but still are in touch with some of the team deep in post production. They told me that Craig is shaping up very very (very) well. Even Stuart Baird, who is said to be a tough guy to please, is totally sold on Daniel.
But...They did let slip on some Bond 22 details. As far as they know shooting is planned for June 2007 for a release in May the following year. They did mention that as far as they know Purvis and Wade have writtern a draft of the screenplay. They knew little of the Roger Michell situation but did mention some names the producers are considering. They said that Matthew Vaughn was a true contender, maybe even the top dog but other serious names included Mike Newell and Alfonso Cuarón. It is said disscussions are on with a new director now, the plan is that bond 22 will have a more Hollywood feel then CR, with bigger name actors in leading roles.

Also, going with Vaughn is NOWHERE near getting a "Hollywood feel".

Curan = Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Total crap. If it took the writers/producers 1 1/2 years to figure out this story (Entertainment Weekly cover story is on CR n it says that so..) I doubt that they have already picked a story let alone gotten a draft completed in under a year since filming commenced on CR

Yeah. Stuart Baird is the editor of CASINO ROYALE (and what a terrific editor he is - a very mediocre director, to be sure, but quite an excellent editor).

This guy is whack. he talks absolute rubbish "my friends from cambridge" ha ha. You don't have any 'friends' mate.

They "let leak the details" rubbish man. They have contracts which mean they could be sued (and effectively never work again in the business) if they tell people this.

It reminds me of football rumours sites where people say there grandads friend works at the club shop etc etc
