Vegetarian DCU heroes

Animal Man kind of made me vegetarian, as odd as that sounds. I guess it was just the first place that raised the issues for me. I mean I'm not a vege I eat meat all the time but I actively reduced the amount of meat I eat and I'm more bothered about the conditions from where it came from.

Same here, dude.

Wompum, you're incorrect about Vixen being a vegetarian. You mention Morrisons Animal Man run, but it was in that series that Vixen offers a chunk of meat to A-Man who turns it down. She's eating the meat during the scene where Buddy gets a big whiff of her pheremones and nearly loses control of himself.

I'd venture a guess that Aquaman is a vegetarian as well.

Why wont they put Animal man in trades?

Aquaman has been shown eating shrimp before. But that was during his really really dark phase when he just lost the hand, so he might have been just emo'ing or whatever. Tempest once complained about Arsenal ordering a fish sandwish or something. Which really brings up a good question of what the heck do Atlanteans eat, anyway? Kelp?

But yeah, just because you like animals doesn't necessarily mean that you're a vegetarian. You could just ascribe to the whole nature-love "circle of life" thingy and accept that eating meat is a natural part of the world.

Animal Man is in trades. 1-26 at least.

Also, eating meat is part of the natural world, but as intelligent beings we do not have the need to consume meat to survive. We can live perfectly fine, possibly better, lives if we stopped eating meat.

Of course like any habit, it's hard to break. I'm still working on that vegetarian thing. All the bad stuff seems so good.

*shrug* I'm just saying what a lot of people believe. Nature-worship is not necessarily vegetarian. That's probably what Vixen ascribes to.

Quite true. When in the wild, she tends to live like an animal.

Completely agree that you need meat to survive which is why I never cut it out of my diet, I just think people eat far too much meat - it's not necessary to eat meat every time you eat and that's actually rather unhealthy and obviously bad for the environment.

Anyway Atlantians... I honestly thought they ate fish, I'm sure I've seen Atlantian fishermen before. Remember Orin because he can speak to sea creatures would have a special relationship so wouldn't eat fish and probably raised his children like that - but that might not go for the rest of Atlantis. If he did force non-fish eating on Atlantians then... are there underwater vegetables they can grow? Lot of sea weed... yum.
