Can vegetarians eat a synthetic hamburger?

Would a vegetarian have a problem eating a hamburger if the meat was created synthetically and did not come from a slaughtered animal?

^ are you thinking about veggie burgers? or making a joke? they are just vegetables put togther in a way to resemble the taste of meat, and veggie burgers are amusing stories with punchlines.
But true synthetic meat would be the same material composition as meat, except made in a lab.
I was cutting back on meat a couple of weeks ago, and only last week was wondering to myself how far along they are with inventing something like this.

That was my understanding. Honestly, I guess I'm sort of uniformed in the area of vegetarian food. While I didn't quite know how all veggie burgers are made, I assumed that there were some different from the naturally eaten ones that you are talking about in your post.

If you asked me for a million dollars if there was some kind of lab made hamburger meat that vegetarians eat, I would have answered yes.

If you read the article I referenced, you will find out that it costs an insane amount of money to produce the item, at the moment anyway.

It's interesting to say the least. I'll worry when someone invents Soylent Green...

Depends on why they are a vegetarian. If it's for health reasons, then probably not. If it's for animal rights, I don't see why not.

Yeah there are a myriad of reasons why someone is vegetarian.

I know someone who's vegan and still eats yogurt (soy yogurt) because she thinks of it as adopting the bacteria instead of killing them.
