Ryan Hurst for Eddie Brock please.

Just cut the hair and trim the beard down to stubble. The guy is a beast.

I could get behind this, I think he'd be able to play both sides of the coin too.

My Picks For Venom:

1. Aaron Paul for Eddie Brock Jr. aka Ultimate Eddie/Venom:

2. Sam Witwer

3. Alexander Skarsgard

4. The Rock

5. Timothy Olyphant

6. Alan Ritchson

If they want to go for an older, more mature Eddie Brock, Timothy Olyphant is the way to go. As for Carnage, I think Tim Roth would be a good choice.

I can't get Michael C Hall out of my mind for Carnage.

I think Rober Knepper would also make a great Carnage.

Agreed.

I like the idea of Jackie-Earle Haley too. If he could play him like his George Noyce character from "Shutter Island"--- just twisted and messed up and as Carnage a mixture of Rorschach and Freddy Kreuger... oh man it would be chilling to watch.

Thanks for posting that, PS. It seems like the movie is headed in the right direction with Eddie as Venom instead of a poser and Carnage as the villain.

No problemo. And yeah, I'm glad we're getting Eddie Brock (probably the classic version). So happy to finally get Carnage on film as well!

I can dig it. Jackie-Earle Haley looks like he could make a good Cletus Cassidy.

Carnage is really overrated. I like him but he's not one of the best villains.

Still, he'd be the perfect antagonist for a Venom film.

I disagree. I think Carnage is actually pretty underrated and only appeals to a small minority of Spider-Man fans.

But I DO agree with what you said about him being a good antagonist for a Venom film. Who else would do better? :D

Honestly if you think about it, Carnage vs. Venom makes a lot of sense from a merchandising standpoint. Black vs. red marketing, 7/11 Slurpee tie-ins, toy sales...it stands to be a bonanza.

Never thought of that. You're right, it does sound like it'll do well for marketing. Though I think critics are going to come in and say how the villain is just a knock-off of the protagonist, say the film is unnecessary, and so on.

Whoever they cast, can't be as miscast as Topher Grace.

I think Topher Grace was alright. He did the best he could with what he was given, but it's too bad he wasn't given more screentime.

I agree pretty much. I would say he wasn't the best fit for Venom, but he also wasn't the only one to blame for why Venom didn't work.

Venom didn't work because of the writing. I actually enjoyed every scene that Eddie Brock appeared in.

I just don't rate Olyphant as an actor.

I think it would be incredible to be able to see Venom on screen how he originally emerged - introducing himself to MJ and stuff like that. He just wants to terrorize Peter, that's his only goal. He needs to be embarrassed by Spider-Man. When he gets the suit is when he becomes prominent. Spider-Man could even be blamed for the deaths of Electro and even Gwen Stacy which would prove as useful info for Brock. And then he tries to frame Spidey as a menace, and then when Peter finally manages to clear his name and humiliates him, Brock goes into his spiral down to being Venom. Now that would be pretty awesome to see for ASM3. I think that it would lead to him being a bigger and memorable villain.

Tom Hardy is the one and only way to pull off Eddie Brock IMO. Aaron Paul could be great, but I see him as someone else (I just can't put my finger on it yet). Ben Foster could make for a really great Carnage, now that I think of it (he was originally my second choice for Venom, but his sinister turn in Hostage makes me think that he'd be absolutely fantastic as Carnage).

I still stand by these two points, if they want to pull this movie off, get these two actors, and I'll be sold in a heartbeat (and I'm sure that a lot of other people would be as well). :word:

I get the feeling the only reason people keep saying tom hardy is because he did bane.

No, I still say channing tatum or the game.

I'd retake topher grace over them honestly.
Who gives a crap if anyone is choosing tom hardy because of bane? He's a good actor who fits the role like a glove and he's a helluva lot better than those two hacks you picked imo.

I give a crap, that answer your question? And I really have to disagree, I just don't believe Channing Tatum is as horrible an actor as the general consensus gives. The pretty boy persona really gets in the way of his somewhat talented works.

The Game on the other hand is mostly just because he looks the part.
