I hope he pulls it off...I like Venom (heck, even Ultimate Venom), and I'm really looking forward to him being in SM3.

I doubt Raimi would've hired him if he couldn't, though. He's gotten consistently good performers.

Just face the facts, Raimi picked an actor who looks nothing like Eddie Brock. Simple as that.

casting based on the look of Ultimate Eddie, doesn’t mean you have to go with the ultimate storyline, it's just the look he wanted to go with, for a more modern kinda feel
the old Eddie was just a big, red haired, meathead lol

Actually, I would like to add to previous statements in saying that perhaps Dwayne Johnson could pull off Brock. I haven't seen him in Gridiron Gang yet, but I hear it was very good...but Church would also have done great, too.

I actually like the casting of Topher, he can and looks very good for the part. Sure he may not look like classic Venom but since they are trying to represent an anti-Peter then you want someone who looks the same in size and stature but with an absolutely different personality and manages to create a monster far worse than Symbiote Spider-Man could ever had hoped to do.

To me that is a lot better, as long as Venom looks far bigger than Spidey I can justify and accept why Eddie isn't bigger than Peter.
