Anyone see this on Sci-Fi tonight?

I wanted to see this in the theater a couple years ago, but I had heard it had bad timing of being set in Louisiana around the hurricane Katrina time, and it got shafted on the number of theater releases. It was listed to play in a few theaters here, but then vanished a week before release, never to return. Well, anyhoo, it was on Sci-Fi channel tonight. It was pretty good. The main girl was hot as hell, acting was solid, and the snake zombie guy was pretty brutal. Me likey.

I saw it in theatres and I have the dvd, just caught the replay on sci-fi. It's better than alot of recent horror flicks that were far more successful (Hostel).

The reason for the horribly poor theatrical distribution was because it takes in Louisiana and ended up coming around the time where alot of people died in floods, and the studio was weary about a movie with a strong focus on death that take splace in that area, so they deliberately downplayed it.

I would have gotten it on DVD a long time ago, but I pretty much forgot about it. Then I saw it was coming on Sci-Fi and checked it out. It was actually pretty good. Think I might pick it up on Divida.

Yeah, I saw the preview for it back then and thought it looked scary/spooky/good and I wanted to check it out. Then it just kind of ... vanished from the theater listings. Shame, too, I would have enjoyed it in the theater.

I could never bring myself to watch it as it called itself Venom, used the exact same font as the Venom comics were using at the time, and had a man with a black ooze going onto his back...it just seemed like a really poor attempt at trying to trick fans of the Venom character (who all probably knew better) into thinking it was something it wasnt...

 I always thought it did bad because Dimension is a terrible genre studio?

I saw it last night also. I've seen it a few times. i like it. Its hard to find cheap that is. most places want 20 to 25 dollars. I shoul have picked it up at blockbuster that one time i saw it for 7.99.

Sci-Fi usually re-airs their Saturday night movies on the following Thursday night.

Pretty much, yes.

They **** with filmmakers visions to the point where the film barely resembles what it was meant to, and/or give a film piss poor marketing and distribution to kill it before it has a chance.
