Video Blogs!

Considering just how accurate that concept art was, and just how photoshopped the promotional pictures were does anybody think that Ozzy's suit is gonna have that purple tint to it that it did in those concept sheets? Either way, I've been totally sold on what they did with him. I think it's gonna work perfectly between his super suit and his flashy dress cloths to move from Veidt the smartest man in the world to Veidt the megalomaniac (now I just need to be sold on the kid playing him, but that shot of him in the purple suit is helping a lot right now).

It does look great, doesn't it? If it does have that black look with the purple sheen, that will just look fantastic as well. I especially like his angular mask.

Oh god. It is the perfect screen adaptation.

You know what would help even more? Watch one of his movies, like "The Lookout". As young as he looks, hear his voice. He's got a pretty deep voice that makes him seem a lot older.

I took the liberty to take some screen caps of the latest blog and show you guys what we could gather from it - and also some stuff you may have missed.

First of all, here's a pic from the bar scene early on in the book - you know the one ; )

watchmenbarscene1.jpg

...and the reference for the scene:

watchmenbarscene3.jpg

I believe this next one may be from the Bestiary (note the plaque in the background with the various photos tacked onto it):

watchmenbarscene2.jpg

Here we have part of the flashback scene of Dollar Bill's death:

watchmendollarbilldeath1.jpg

Here's his costume again (although it's hard to tell, the object in the case may be a model of Archie):

watchmendollarbill2.jpg

Now we can see Sally Jupiter lining up for a shot with NYPD:

watchmenjupiter1.jpg

...and a close-up of the same shot:

watchmenjupiter2.jpg

In this pic we see a few "emergency service" cops (most likely getting for the Rorschach encounter):

watchmenpolice1.jpg

Here we see Snyder looking at some designs for Seymour's shirt - copy and errand boy at the New Frontiersman as well as costume pics for Bernie (the newsvendor):

watchmenseymour1.jpg

In this pic we see what appears to be the last moments for the two Bernies (note both the Forbes magazine with Veidt on the cover, and the Nova Express with Nixon on the cover):

watchmenthebernies1.jpg

Here we see Veidt walking in the lobby of his headquarters (most likely due to the way he appears to be explaining something to someone off-screen - the reporter, perhaps):

watchmenveidt2.jpg

...and a close-up:

watchmenveidt1.jpg

Here we see a hippie protest sign wielding Nixon's face (the movie's look-alike, anyway):

watchmennixon1.jpg

Here we see what appears to be the infamous caravan - perhaps the Comedian will have a guest appearance in this scene, hehe:

watchmenkennedydrive1.jpg

Here we see the Knot Tops - it would appear they are preparing to take a stroll down a dark alleyway, hehe:

watchmenknottops1.jpg

In these two pics we can see the Keane Riots taking place:

In this pic of the costume designer showing off some of the clothing we can make out a comforting label (well, two, if you ask me):

watchmengilaflats3.jpg

Here's another consolation:

Finally we get official confirmation of Danny Woodburn as Big Figure (looks pretty good, too):

watchmenbigfigure1.jpg

Here are several costume designs that were used for the main characters
________________________________________________________________

First, Nite Owl I and The Silk Spectre (perfect):

watchmencostumes1.jpg

Next, the early Comedian and Silhouette (also perfect):

watchmencostumes2.jpg

Here we see both Edward Blake in his final attire, and a very intriguing suited Comedian (this would confirm the scene when Laurie calls him out in front of everybody - the flashback during the final part of the Mars sequence):

watchmencostumes3.jpg

Here he is again in his typical attire and gimp mask, respectively (great stuff so far):

watchmencostumes4.jpg

Here's a few designs for Laurie's clothes and her Silk Spectre costume (again, great) - hopefully they only forgot to make her last name Juspeczyk in these instances:

watchmencostumes5.jpg

watchmencostumes6.jpg

watchmencostumes7.jpg

Here we see the costumes for Veidt and Ozymandias, respectively.

The white suit is intriguing - perhaps it has something to do with the interview with him at the end of Chapter 11? I believe Snyder said he would be doing things for the extra info at the ends of the chapters, so it's not out of the question - especially since the interview was held in Karnak and the background of the costume reference is that of a snowy landscape:

watchmencostumes8.jpg

I love the way Ozymandias looks from the back:

watchmencostumes9.jpg

Here we see the outer gates of the cemetery where Edward Blake's funeral is being held:

watchmenfuneral.jpg

...but - what is that they're filming back there?

Did they really...*gasp*

Hehe - you'd better believe it:

watchmenangeltears1.jpg

And last, but certainly not least:

watchmendanandlaurie1.jpg

Ooo nice stuff, Battousai

I'm gonna start keeping a closer eye on this from now on :)

Great pics Batto, can't wait to finish the comics :woot:

It's impossible not to get excited at this point.

You can see it's Gugino a little clearer in the close-up, but otherwise, it's remarkable how different she looks under the make-up.

Hehe - they updated the site with the Dan and Laurie info I gave them :woot:

Here we see Veidt walking in the lobby of his headquarters (most likely due to the way he appears to be explaining something to someone off-screen - the reporter, perhaps):

watchmenveidt2.jpg

There appears to be a new picture of him in costume back there. Maybe even some of the others in costume.

I'm pretty sure that's a picture of Ozy with a group of children affected by the famine in India he was raising money to fight.

While most seem to be happy with Carla as the SS and even Veidt walking in his company building but what is freaking awesome is the way Dan looks. I know ppl were 'upset' with the way dan looked in the new Owl costume but he looks like an over weight man in that picture. and that freaking pleases me to no freaking end and his hair looks effing perfect.

on a side note carla is freaking hot....I love the hair. I wish I lived during that time frame lol :wow:

It reads "African famine Relief" "join the fight against hunger" "july 12 1984"
