Okay, according to the link it says that Malin Akerman has been cast as SALLY Jupiter, aka Silk Spectre aka Dr. Manhattan's girlfriend. WHA?! Laurie is this described character!

God, I sure hope they didn't mess this one up! I'm thinking it's a typo.

Actually...no. That's why I put the 'seriously' there. To me she is the least interesting and I'm more anxious to find out who's playing Manhattan, Veidt, Comedian etc.

This chick could MAYBE pull off a young Sally Jupiter, but it would be a huge misstep to cast her as Laurie.

I hope it's a bogus report either way.

Apparently, she gave a good audition for the part of Laurie / Silk Spectre II.

Of course, 'good' is a relative term, I guess; all kinda depends on what plans Snyder has in store for the character. Style over substance... looks over dramatic qualities? (not that one necessarily precludes the other, of course; this girl is unknown to me, I know not of her work).

In theory, we havent had anyone announced, and the rumored characters include a 40 year old Jackie Earle Haley. I think you need to theorize your statement a lil bit more.

Considering that Laurie starts off as a kid as gradually grows into adulthood i'd say it would be a good thing to cast someone who looks so young.
It's much easier to make someone look older with make/up or not doing excercise ( i.e. letting yourself go) then making someone look younger.

With X3 we know that the technology is there do make actors look younger but honestly why go to such a time consuming not to mention EXPENSIVE process when make up will do the job.

And please people we have no idea just what kind of reading this girl gave so i really wouldn't begin to claim "OMG bad actress" based on her previous work.
Remember that Tom Hanks played an idiot in Bachelor Party which is the equiavalent of watching Kelso of that 70's show in action.
And then he went on to make films like Ryan .
So yeah
