Transformers Video Games...

Is there a video game that is going to accompany the movie? Has anyone heard anything about it?

p.s. this thread may be in the incorrect section...but if anyone does know about the game odds are there will be movie spoilers in it...

Yeah I saw a release date for PS3 for somewhere in 2007.

Activision has the rights for a console/handheld/pc game but from what I've read they havent announced anything yet. I could be wrong though.

Nintendo Power has announced that three Transformers games are in the works, one for the Nintendo Wii and two for the Nintendo DS. All three games are going to be based on the 2007 live action Transformers movie, which hits theaters July 4th.

Not yet.. presumably, yes, since games are too expensive these days to just develop for one console.

Development between the current Nintendo machines and a PS3 or 360 is waaayy different.
In fact I'm surprised it would even come out on a N. system, looking at the movie it would sound more likely to release it on a ps3 or 360.

Yeah, which is even more reason why it's likely to already be in development by a 360/PS3 team as well.

It's too expensive to release to just one console.. Wii's the easiest to develop for, in theory, since the games are fairly straightforward and basic. No online play, and pre-determined animation.

Meaning.. you'll likely get a version of Excite Truck's engine with Transformers. Drive Optimus around, chase through the streets with Bumblebee, etc. Nothing too "sandbox" like, more like Tony Hawk's downhill racing, compared to Tony Hawk Project 8 in other words.

And yeah, you'll probably transform by flipping the nunchuck and using it to fire, but I wouldn't look more into it than that unfortunately. Third party developers so far haven't taken advantage of the Wii and have kept things fairly basic control wise (or tried and failed re: Splinter Cell)

Madden is excellent on the Wii.

Maybe you run around with the Wii remote like its the all spark (energon cube) and stay from the baddies.
