Video interview with the Snyders

Should be great seeing the ship there.

Dammit, I wish I was going to Comic-con. :(

Anyway, if there is a Watchmen teaser with TDK, I will lose my s***. I just cant handle that much awesome.

Great interview, I'm so excited for this!

I'm going--got my tickets, hotel, the works.

I will send a picture of archie for everyone on here. The watchmen presentation is one of the only reasons I'm going this year. It's good to know they will be delivering the goods.

I'm glad I snatched up those 4-day passes a long time ago, and I have a hotel, I can't wait for this!

Indeed, I'm bummed we never got any kind of proper Dark Knight panel...it's unfortunate....

See ya guys there :cwink:

Agreed. Just seeing the guy talk about this stuff is getting me hyped up. And I'm already about to explode for this flick.

I'll tell ya what, the guy's not built for public speaking, lol. But once you get past that, there are some really promising tidbits in that interview.

New info from Snyder:

Zack Sets Us Straight

Watchmen director tells fans when they will get their first look at Dr. Manhattan and to relax about Ozy’s nipples

So, Zack Snyder won Best Director for 300 at this year’s Saturn Awards and while he was backstage carrying his award off, he gave another video interview.
I'm guessing the video was shot at the end of the night because Snyder seemed pretty tired and perhaps a bit “partied out” from the event.
Regardless, he dropped a few more Watchmen tidbits that are very much worth reporting.
First, It seems we will be getting our first look at Dr. Manhattan a lot sooner than we had thought According to Snyder,
I think you will see Manhattan before Comic-Con. That's my feeling. But there's other stuff that you will see that's crazy at Comic-Con.
The interview also asked Snyder about some of the negative fan reaction to the costume photos that were released a few months ago.
Someone said, like “Those costumes look like Joel Schumacher!” And I go “Do you think that I don’t know? Do you think that would be an accident?” If you don’t acknowledge where comic book movies are right now, if you can’t… in the same way that Watchmen referenced and took apart the comic book genre and the comic book heroes, you have to make some reference to those same decisions in cinema. You have to. And if you think the fact that Ozy’s costume has nipples is a mistake or that we don’t understand the design, then it's like to me that’s crazy. It's just you really need to pay more attention to what we’re doing.
To watch the entire interview where Zack also talks about his upcoming projects Army of The Dead, Guardians of Ga'Hoole, Illustrated Man and a possible 300 sequel check out the video at Collider.com

I'm going to say this very carefully so I don't have to repeat myself.

SOMEBODY, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, BRING A CAMERA.

With the FX crew working on Manhattan, I'm really hoping they will dedicate the next video blog to Doc.

Love it.

Oh, and while we’re on the subject of movies, I’m not allowed to talk about some other footage I was looking at last week, but do offer to mortgage your collection to bribe your way into San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H on Friday the 25th at 11:55. And if you can’t, console yourself by going into the exhibit hall and admiring the five-ton…oh, sorry, they’re making me stop now.

In one of those videos Snyder says that the scene, where Dr. Manhattan blows the vietkong guerrilla into pieces, is not finished and that in the final version you are going to see the guts flying and stuff. I must say that sounds really pointless. Why should there be blood and guts? It looks great the way it is in the trailer. And in the comic Dr. Manhattan just evaporates them, like Roschach.
