I still ,love the Vince Dicola score for the TF movie. I know it sounds 80's but do you think his 'updated style' could work for TF 2007 movie?

If not, then who?

^ Uh ok... :whatever:

I think either Marco Beltrami (sp?) or John Powell could do a very good job. Considering their style of scores.

yeah true....

if i had to choose betweem one of them id choose marco... i listen to his music almost everyday.

but is he better for this movie than steve?....i doubt it. steve is a bit more epic

You cant just put a composer on a project based on what he's done in the past. You need to match it to what was filmed, and that remains to be seen if its either epic or not. Some composers can adapt others cant.

Your favorite movie, aka The Island was about clones and the score reflected more of a human conflict/emotions. This is a movie about giant robots, killing and fighting humans and each other.

no.... its reality that steve jablonsky is scoring.

I've never heard the words 'Steve Jablonsky' and 'epic' used in the same sentence before. :cwink:

I was suprised when people actually spoke of that teaser music in a positive light because I think it's pretty bland to say the least. Infact speaking of the Island, I like the music (for that movie), but I wouldn't call it epic.

Although I'd agree that part of it at least is headed in the right direction (the music you mentioned). A couple of other orchestral tracks in the movie also.

From the teaser though, and it's just a snippet of course, it feels like he went backwards rather than forwards. I'm not against him doing the score though. I said I'll give him a chance ages ago and that's what I'll do.

So yeah, basically my post is all over the shop. :o

xw2 just keeps proving my point. Mods please take this madman away and let folks talk about the issues they want.

xwolverine2 ........stop the name calling and attacks. If you can't talk to people in a civil manner...you will not be able to talk to people at all.

Lets see Noesbleed provoke XW2 some more :D
