Viola Davis/Shonda Rhimes Team Up for 'How To Get Away With Murder'

I can't wait to see #WhoKilledSam

It would be pretty lulzy if Michaela is the one that killed Sam. The girl is unintentionally funny and that scene where she was about to hit the mother of her fiance was just amazing and hilarious!

So am I right in thinking the blond secretary type woman has a thing for Analise, not Sam?

The rich frat boy is hilarious with his dancing and attempts at talking like a rapper.

Frank is lame, I hope they kill him off soon.

The flasbacks with Rebecca and the dead chick were funny.

I reckon Sawyer is spot on, it explains the extent of her freak outs.

Fair question.

It's funny, I hadn't even suspected
Michaela but that could really work. She is wound really tight and with all the crap with her fiance, I could see her completely snapping. I think the blond b***h was the one who killed the girl though.

I also think (or maybe just hope) that Rebecca had some sort of fling with the girl after Sam and her broke up. Sorry, my mind always wanders into dirty places when I see two beautiful women being affectionate towards each other. :woot:

Also yeah, Frank is annoying and I wouldn't mind if they offed him. He doesn't really add anything to the show; just comes off like a creeper.

Question: I am loving How to Get Away With Murder. Any scoop? —Katie
Ausiello: Remember how Alfred Enoch’s “puppy dog” Wes shared with Rebecca in Episode 7 that his mother committed suicide when he was only 12? Series creator Peter Nowalk teases that viewers should “definitely pay attention to” that tidbit of background information. “That was a big bomb. It was buried in a bunch of information that was not significant, and it explains a lot of Wes’ behavior; it explains that he has a deep sadness, a loneliness. It maybe explains a little of his ‘damsel-in-distress-rescue syndrome,’ too,” continues Nowalk. “It’s a question: ‘How did [Wes' mother] kill herself? Why did she kill herself? What happened to Wes after that? And how did that impact who he was?’ What happens to us as children completely determines our psychology and our behavior after that. [That death], basically, blew apart his life.” Nowalk also hints that even though Wes doesn’t come from the “shark-feeding” upper-class world inhabited by most of his Middleton University cohorts, he’s actually “much stronger than people think at first glance. Wes has been through things that are worse than any of [his Keating Five counterparts]. He knows how to shut down his emotions in the dramatic events of Murder Night.”

Too bad they don't have an actor good enough to show all that.

No need to be defensive, I don't think the kid playing Wes is all that good either, the only actor amongst the students that is actually good is the girl playing Rebbecca IMO. The pretty gay guy is also a decent actor but the rest are very average.

Anyone else wondering if maybe they'll go the route of having more than one person kill Sam? Like maybe some weird thing happens where most of the Keating 5 had a hand in his death somehow?

Well, I guess it was kinda like I said, but the actual trophy swinger wasn't a surprise.

Nice twist at the end at least. [blackout]Annalise is likely the orchestrator behind the body disposal.[/blackout]

Agreed, awesome twist!

And yes, it seems [BLACKOUT]Annalise instructed Wes on how to make sure the body was properly disposed of[/BLACKOUT]. After all, when it comes to [BLACKOUT]how to get away with murder[/BLACKOUT], who would know better than [BLACKOUT]Annalise[/BLACKOUT]?

Heh. Everyone is a maniac, basically. Any form of ethics be darned!

I was so happy with that ending. When she was making her tearful voicemail plea for him to come back home, I was like "... really?"

The twist was great. It explained a lot of WTFs (like how/why Wes was pushing for things, Annalise's "tearful" call, etc.).

I was so happy with that ending. When she was making her tearful voicemail plea for him to come back home, I was like "... really?"

Yeah, that and
when she went to sleep with Nate, it all seemed like she was setting up an alibi. Now, the only question is, did Sam really kill Lila? I'm still on the fence over this one.

Good ending to this mystery, of course they went with the usual "don't suspect the "killer" is dead first time around" but I enjoyed it.

Can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out, but I am more interested in how they will do a 2nd season, a lot of shows who start off with this type of mystery storyline often can't live up to their first season.

I can't wait to see the extent of Annalise's involvement with the disposal of the body. Wes didn't seem at all on board with dumping the remains in the trash, I wonder if she gave him a specific plan and the other three just managed to hijack it and go their own way.

Those bags are gonna come back...and that ending was everything.

I guess the producers figured everything plus the kitchen sink will keep folks engaged, in case the network gets cold feet..

I think Analise has been plotting this from the start, it's why she picked Waitlist Wes, playing back to his mother issues that the producers said were important, he has a white knight complex and I wouldn't be at all surprised if his trailer trash crumpet is one of Analise's pawns to control Wes.

I think the murder being gotten away with in the title of the show is Analise killing Lyla and working on framing her husband while trying to make it look like she was protecting him for so long.

I was so happy with that ending. When she was making her tearful voicemail plea for him to come back home, I was like "... really?"

Hah! :D Me too, I actually said "Is this scene from Viola playing a totally different character?"

Great episode. I too was wondering why Wes was so adamant in how the body should be disposed off, like he was some sort of expert but all was made clear with that surprise twist which I doubt anyone saw coming.

Cicely Tyson is coming to How to Get Away with Murder, TVGuide.com has learned.

Details on the Oscar nominee's role are being kept under wraps, but Tyson is slated for one episode so far. Might she be playing Annalise's (Viola Davis) mother?

The gig will reunite Tyson with Davis, with whom she co-starred in The Help. A three-time Emmy winner, Tyson most recently guest-starred on Law & Order: SVU in 2009 and won a Tony last year for The Trip to Bountiful. She received an Emmy nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination just last week for the TV movie adaptation of the play.

Tyson is the latest high-profile guest star to join Murder. Marcia Gay Harden will recur on the show when it comes back from winter hiatus.

How to Get Away with Murder returns Thursday, Jan. 29 at 10/9c on ABC. Who do you think Tyson's playing?
