nope, they all pretty much work exactly the way they did when originally released.

That's pretty lame then considering the prices and the fact you can download most of them anyway :(

Newest download: Gunstar Heroes

I haven't gotten really far into the game, but surprisingly cool and a little reminiscent of the fast-paced action of Metal Slug, but taken to the extreme. Really fun multiplayer (you can throw your partner at enemies, how cool is that?), but the game, like Metal Slug, does get old if approached like a deep single-player experience. It's best for short spurts of fun and action. Is it worth the Wii Points...? I think it is, but it really depends on what your need are as a player are.

Here's IGN Wii's review of the game:

Review Score: 9.0.
As always, the text is more important than the score, so please read the review if you're interested.

By the way, there is still hope for fans of TMNT:

Ice Climber and TMNT Hit AU Virtual Console
Anyone would think it's Friday.
by Cam Shea, IGN AU

Australia, March 15, 2007 - The headline says it all really. Nintendo today updated the Australian Virtual Console service with two more NES titles - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ice Climber.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was first NES TMNT game, and was a single-player action game that allowed the player to switch between each of the four turtles at any time to utilise their skills. Donatello's Bo staff, for instance, is slower than Leonardo's katanas, but has greater reach. As you'd expect, it's up to the turtles to rescue April and take down Shredder.

Ice Climber stars the mallet wielding Nana and Popo, two characters that you're more likely to know from their appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee than from the original 1985 title. A vertically scrolling platformer, as the name suggests the game charges the player with climbing to the top of a range of icy mountains. You can read our full review here.

They just released the original TMNT arcade game on XBOX360 arcade,(and it is awesome of course) so I'd say its only a matter of time before there is one for the VC. I kind of hope its not the original one like they apparently got in Australia, I always thought it was pretty hard. I never got past the part where you had to defuse the bombs in the water. Oh well, maybe I will be better at it now.:xmen:

LOL, I only beat that level once actually. :O

I hope we get all of the tmnt games...including the original.

Especially the ones on SNES. :D

Yeah, I remember it being extremely hard with all the poison seaweed or whatever it was. I also got past it ONCE, but I sacrificed three of my turtles to do it, lol.

Was anyone able to do it on a regular basis?

I Want Super Mario Bros 3 So Bad!!!!!
AND BATTLETOADS!!!!!!!
AND CONKERS BAD FUR DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What came out today? I'm not at home....

Excitebike (NES), 1 player, 500 Wii Points): Face crazy curves, hairpin turns, and daredevil jumps as you race toward the checkered flag and the Excitebike championship. Race against the clock or challenge an opponent. You must keep your bearings as you fly through the air and avoid getting clipped by other racers. Stay cool under pressure or your bike will overheat. If you get tired of racing on the circuit, create your own course in Design Mode. There you have access to all the ramps, mounds, bridges, and other obstacles Excitebike has to offer.

Beyond Oasis (Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): You are Prince Ali, who has discovered a buried gold armlet. This armlet once belonged to a wizard who waged a long war against the evil wielder of a silver armlet. The silver armlet was used to create chaos and destruction, while the gold armlet had the power to summon four spirits: the water spirit "Dytto," the fire spirit "Efreet," the shadow spirit "Shade," and the plant spirit "Bow." To stop the person who first discovered the ancient silver armlet and is again using it for evil, Prince Ali travels the land of Oasis, gradually acquiring the ability to summon the four spirits. Use your wits and speed to claim the silver armlet!

SPLATTERHOUSE (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): Rick and Jennifer, both parapsychology students at the local university, are visiting West Mansion, site of the research lab where the famed Dr. West conducted some of his most gruesome experiments. A sudden storm forces them to find shelter inside the mansion. Once inside, they are attacked by monsters. Jennifer is kidnapped and Rick is knocked unconscious. Hours later, Rick awakes to find himself covered in blood, with the Terror Mask stuck to his face. His only hope is to depend on the ancient powers of the mask to give him the strength and courage to find Jennifer. Now Rick's fight has begun! Splatter your way through 7 stages of side-scrolling horror action. Armed with cleavers and shotguns, Rick must fight his way through the monsters of West Mansion and defeat the bosses at the end of every stage. The creepy music, gruesome monsters, gory action and shocking events leading up to the finale will keep you on the edge of your seat!

That wasn't the original game, the one the 360 got was SNES prequel to Turtles in time(the best game ever) I think. The original was that crappy NES game that gave the turtles the same life bar..

I never did like that game and I don't think I'll be buying it(I'm still waiting for star fox to be released)

He said the original TMNT ARCADE game, not original TMNT game.

Plus, it wasn't crappy, it was quite fun...it was just very hard.

I was hoping the NiGHTS rumor might spur some Virtual Console development. It may have been a pretty weak console, but NiGHTS, Dragoon and dare I say Marvel vs. Street Fighter? Man, that would be crazy sweet.

Well, it the Saturn does show up, then those three I think would show up on the VC at some point.

God I hope so. Nintendo fans always get screwed come Capcom time.

Yes, the 360 game I was referring to the TMNT ARCADE game. And that IS the original arcade TMNT game, it came out in 1989 and even Turtles in Time was an arcade game before it was ported to the SNES.

Out of the games released yesterday, I actually downloaded "beyond Oasis". I remember playing it way back when, and it is pretty fun.:xmen:

I updated the list on the front page for the first time in a month. Sorry about that. I've bolded everything added since my last one.

I just dled Kid Icarus and I have to say.... not impressed at all. Even if it wasn't hard as hell, its not as great as internet hypes makes it seem. Maybe its that I started gaming around the 16 bit era, but this is hardly Super Mario Bros.

Kid Icarus was awsomeness!:cmad:

Agreed.

I also was a bit disappointed when I downloaded it (the internet hype surrounding the badassery of Pit was growing and growing), but after I judged the game in its context (that is, the NES), I was able to see how the game was a hybrid of the the big three, with the makings of a legendary 3D game on Wii.

It'll happen....with his popularity growing due to his being in SSBB, give it a couple of years, and we'll have Kid Icarus Wii in all it's eggplant wizard glory.:cwink:

Sorry friend but Pokemon Snap was awesomeness. This is just okay. Not that I dont want a revival of the franchise, there is alot of promise and I'm not particularly far in to say this game actually sucks. And I do want a greek Nintendo game, especially considering I'm sure as hell not getting a PS2 or PS3 despite how much I love God of War.
