Animation Voltron: Legendary Defender

I was thinking the news of Shiro would increase the shipping some fans do, but I've read the details and I don't think that'll happen.

They announced that the 8th season will be the last.

At least we're back to the 13 episode releases, which is nice.

Yeah, that's not the popular pair among shippers.

Well I’ve seen enough of Keith and Shiro and Keith and Lance. I don’t care for shipping, but the Keith and Shiro one bothered me since I thought the writers have made that relationship to be a very brotherly one. Just felt weird.

The less said about Klance shippers, the better. There have been some... occurrences in the past caused by them that's kinda tainted the fandom.

I got my LEGO Voltron a couple of weeks ago...need some time to assemble it now.

What kind of occurrences?

What kind of occurrences?

The kind of insulting/sending death threats to crew members and voice actors in order to make the ship canon, among other scenarios.

This video should clarify some stuff for you:

Anyway, really hyped for season 7. Bring on the Galra v Paladins on Earth action.

Fans sometimes are truly the worst. Also, another reason social media needs to get nuked.

Also, didn't this show actually introduce an LGBTQ relationship for one of the lead characters?

Yep. Shiro has (or had) a fiancé before he left for space the first go around.

I imagine there are going to be quite a few upset because they just confirmed Pidge's pronouns.

Pidge was always a girl in this version of Voltron, so I don't see the confusion?

Heck, if anything, people are more upset about the fact that [BLACKOUT]Adam was killed off.[/BLACKOUT]

What the hell was that random Family Feud type episode? Felt like a waste.

Yeah... only episode of the season I didn't like. Plus it didn't help it that they were hammering in "Lance is so dum lmao" when it wasn't that amusing to begin with.

Finished the season....it was ok but felt a little over the place with A LOT of coincidences.

The team gets captured? They can connect with the lions.

The team gets captured AGAIN? They can control the lions mentally.

Team finally saves Earth? Mysterious deus-ex zord appears out of no where.

Team gets defeated by mysterious zord? Ship turns into GIANT ass zord and saves Voltron.

GIANT ass zord is about to get taken down by mysterious deus-ex zord? Voltron has just enough power to land the "defeating" blow.

Deus-Ex zord has a backup where its going to blow up and take out half of the world? Lions have enough power to get it into space.

And after everything Shiro has been through does he really need to lose his ex-boyfriend?

Anyone else feel that the back half the season felt like some kind of Mocross/Gundam/Battleship Yamato fusion? Cuz it didnt' feeel like voltron that's for sure.

I liked the season enough. But, I had problems with that random game show episode. Yeah, Lance is the clown, goofball, etc. but he isn't that dumb. Other than Bii-Boh-Bi, I really couldn't name any of those characters.

Also had issues with the final battle and the random robot showing up. For a moment, I thought it was going to be Lotor somehow or even Haggar (who I forgot how things ended for her last season). The Atlas changing into a robot was just "Huh?" I guess that was due to space magic since I don't think Pidge's dad even knew that could happen.

As I've said before, I don't care much for shipping. Outside of obvious relationships within the story the writers are telling or what's expected due to the normal canon in past versions, I don't pay much attention to it other than knowing it exists. But, I was a little amused this go around given what happened with Shiro, Keith, Lance, and Allura. Especially with Shiro... I knew that reaction wouldn't be positive. Yikes. I'm sure the fan shipping will continue, so whatever about that.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the robot at the end was [BLACKOUT]Haggar's doing. Kolivan did say that the Blade of Marmora found Lotor's Altean base empty, and we know Haggar knew about it by spying on the paladins through "Kuron." It's clear at this point they're setting her up as the endgame villain.[/BLACKOUT]

I never got the impression Pidge was trans. Maybe she's bi or lesbian, but from season 1 on the impression always was she only dressed as a boy to disguise her identity.

Yeah, I assume it was her doing. But, was expecting to see her. Had to go read what happened to her last season.

I don't see how there could be any uproar about Pidge being a girl. It's been pretty clear that she's one. If there was any issue, I'm sure it would've been around the time they revealed it and that was a while ago.

Different kind of uproar. Quite a few identified her as trans, or at the very least non-binary.
