WandaVision WandaVision General Discussion Thread

Brilliant acting from everyone involved - ✔️
50s/60 sitcom atmosphere - ✔️
Mystery undertones - ✔️
Great chemistry between the two leads - ✔️

Personally, I thought the first 2 episodes were great. Even the first one, which some seem to find boring and/or inconsequential, when watched carefully, I think there are plenty of subtle hints to be found which point to what could be really happening.
It certainly got me hooked, and I can't wait to see how the rest of the series will play out (not to mention that it's the first MCU property we've gotten in 18 months which only adds up to the excitement :D).
I was going to post my non-spoiler thoughts but you just summed up exactly how I felt so I'll be lazy and just second everything you've said!

Don't know if we'll see this in the show, but I'm excited for a proper Scarlet Witch costume:

Loved the first 2 episodes, this is really different from Marvel which I have wanted them to do for years, great acting and setting, loving all the characters and the central Mystery has me hooked already.

And Lizzie Olsen in that magician assistants outfit didn’t hurt either.

For me it was Lizzie in the Mary Tyler Moore style capri pants ensemble.

Well that was certainly different...

I can't help but think that Vision won't make it out of this alive either.

I don't think he made it IN this alive.

Imho He was asking Wanda thing, that could destroy her harmonic reality. So she made him choke and his wife was begging her to stop it.

That choking scene and the rewind after the beekeeper showed up makes it seem less likely that Wanda is being manipulated here. The first scene reminded me of the Twilight Zone episode "Its A Good Life". " Its a good thing that we are trapped here with you living out classic sitcom fantasies, Wanda!"

Its certainly an interesting show. Not sure I love it, but I applaud the effort. It reminds me a bit of Legion in that regard.

love the fake adverts was not expecting those I also love that the theme song for the sitcom was done by the song writers of Frozen and Frozen II

Anyone also think that
the actors in the commercials could be Wanda’s parents? Like the first commercial being the Stark middle that killed them and left Wanda and Pietro hiding under the bed?

If you’ve seen the poster, there’s a couple previews of her new outfit.

Just seen both episodes. I was really hyped for this. Well... I loved it. Liz Olsen and Paul Bettany are amazing in this (and Kathryn Hahn too). Love the Bewitched thingy. And the creepy lynchian vibe is there just the right amount. I'm very excited for Falcon & the Winter Solider, but I must say this is more my jam.

Short version: I like it. MORE!!!

I've only seen that comic accurate one. Hers and Vision's. But that seems to be just a homage, not one they'll actually be using in movies.

They HAVE TO make a Full House joke considering the Olsen of it all.

They do. In episode 4, I believe. Elizabeth Olsen confirmed it. She said they give a nod to Full House in their "Family Ties" episode.

Oh I don't know. An element of him must be in there because he's interacting with her - and the other guests.

It may depend on whether she's wired up to something, or she's in a different reality (of sorts), and whether she's somehow absorbed Vision's essence - she did after all get her powers from an infinity stone, which is further linked to the stone that powered Vision.

If he's merely a figment of her imagination/creation, then why would he be interacting independently of her? Such as at work, or out with the lads?

I like the week by week release instead of all at once. More suspense.

I’m loving the show so far. A+ for both episodes. I grew up watching I Love Lucy, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, The Brady Bunch, etc. so all the homages/references are right up my ally.

Precisely

I feel like I have a sudden interest to go back and watch some old episodes of Bewitched or I Dream of Jeannie.

Given and different and great WandaVision is, I can't help but think about a Doctor Doom show by Noah Hawley. I know he had conversations with Feige. It sounds extra exciting now.

Bring more D+ shows.

There's quite a few eps of both on YouTube at the moment, I just went back and watched both the pilots today, which was awesome. You can tell everyone involved did the same.

Bewitched and IDOJ? Did you watch Bewitched in B&W or the coloured version?

I kind of wish WandaVision had been an actual show in the 1960s.

I think the middle tv in this poster is what pixen meant

And this one (below her face on the tv) (the glove on the tv on the left is her halloween outfit though)

Also excited to finally see her reality warping hex powers instead of just the glorified telekinesis. As a fan of both the Scarlet Witch and Jean Grey, a distinction must be made.

“For the children!”

So Mephisto is the villain in this, right?

That is my call, though it could be someone like Chthon filling the same role, I suppose. But that is pretty much the "I heard the initial plot outline in marketing" prediction, its hardly a leap.

So this is very good!

I wasn't as excited for this, but this is the type of thing I was hoping Marvel would get more into. And I like how this is the first thing for Phase 4. The suspense of knowing something is wrong but not what really drives it and makes things unsettling. I'm really curious what's going on. I'll be watching the rest of the show.
