WandaVision WandaVision General Discussion Thread

The Beekeeper mystery was already answered. He was a SWORD agent.
The mystery is what happened to him. He saw Wanda, she said “no,” and he was never seen or heard from again. So far. They showed us this twice, from two different POV’s, and both times it cut away at the same moment. Suggesting...something’s up.

Is the plan to renew any of the D+ shows? Some/most of them are one and done in my eyes.

Maybe the Beekeeper will show up in a stinger.

Hopefully without abee sting.

Its possible that they are not treating these streaming series as regular shows with a season 1, 2, 3 and so on. First to make way for other streaming series and second, characters like Wanda/Monica are set to appearin a movie.

I think WV is off the table.
It won‘t work outside this setting in a parallel dimension with Sitcoms throughout decades.

If there's a 2nd season of WandaVision, it would be a very different show. It couldn't really be the same thing as this one paying homage to classic sitcoms. How would they explain that Wanda and Vision have managed to get caught up in this kind of scenario again a second time?

S.W.O.R.D. is setting up X-Factor. Expect to see Mystique appear sooner rather than later.

Set up by the US Government and investigates paranormal activity.

Thats your speculation and eXpectation though.

Nothing in the show suggests that Sword are already setting up Mystique and X-Factor.

X-Factor existed in the Marvel Universe long before SWORD, and long before Mystique was ever a part of that group. They were created specifically to track down mutants and consisted of the original 5 X-Men posing as government agents but were really trying to help mutants.

Mutants haven't been introduced into the MCU yet, and X-Factor can exist independently of SWORD. So the existence of SWORD doesn't hint at X-Factor at all, and certainly not Mystique, who would need her background established as a villain and a mutant first long before any association with X-Factor.

X-Factor is something only for long down the line after the X-Men have been established. If you're just going to use X-Factor as an agency for investigating paranormal activity, why not call them something different like... the X-Files. :o

Honestly, I think the whole concept of "renewal" is not necessarily relevant to these shows. WandaVision, for instance, isn't simply "the Scarlet Witch show", its a specific storyline involving her in the same way a movie might have a specific story. Even if they did produce more shows starring her, it wouldn't really be a "renewal", it would be a new show, a sequel of sorts.

Well it varies per show whether they could have a second season. It's definitely possible for shows like Loki, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, etc. to get a second season. Though that's not really "renewal" as they could just decide to make a "sequel season" so to speak at any time they like in the same way they decided to make the sequels to their movies.

So is anyone expecting an epic battle in WandaVision? I somehow think those will be few and far between on Disney+. I am expecting it for Falcon and the Winter Soldier though. A lot epic MCU battles in recent movies have one thing in common among the good guys: all of the good guys in these battles are established superheroes, with the occasional new look or new weapon from a few of them. They know what their strengths and weaknesses are. They know what they can and cannot do. They can control their powers and abilities and it comes in handy in those large scale epic battles with the bad guys.

Yes, I think we're in for a big surprise when it comes to action. Just a hunch.

I think so too. As I said, the last several epic battles in the MCU have always involved established heroes (ie no "people who just got their powers") in those battles. There are a few here (Wanda and Vision) but also a new one in Monica.

Hasn’t PB said, that the epic finale includes more CGI than Endgame?

If he has, that will be something to see, especially Monica's first legit superhero action being an epic battle. It worked out for Peter Parker (Civil War) so it could work out for Monica.

Somehow... I doubt Betnany would be in the know of the ins and outs of the amount of VFX in the finale and I doubt even more that he was being anything more than hyperbolically cheeky if he said that it had more visuals effects than Endgame.

An X-Factor film is...

I LOVE Peter David's run ok.

But be serious minded for a second.

The X-Men film isn't written or cast yet or has a director.

You won't see it for years. 2024 is at best the year they may START production.

If you think that immediately there is going to be in short order a tidal wave of things like New Mutants, X-Factor, X-Force... you aren't being realistic, which is an issue among the X-Fandom in general.

The "set up" for a totally at this time theoretical film is not in any way being intentionally lamp shaded in a streaming series that takes place likely close to a decade at minimum before said theoretical film could even possibly be released... If it is even in the plans at all.

Yeah, even if it doesn't reach Endgame levels of action, I'm pretty sure they have to deliver a good action scene at some point. There has to be a climax to all of this.

I am hoping for an epic battle: a group of good guys vs. an army of bad guys. Right now there's little evidence something like that is happening. It's only Agatha (and maybe "Quicksilver'") and Wanda? vs. Monica. Monica has powers sure, but none of them (as of yet) are powers sufficient enough for battle.

The epic battle would be Wanda, Vision, Dr. Strange and Monica vs. Agatha and a trove of monsters, beasts and creatures. However, Monica has nothing yet to indicate she has powers that can be used for battle.

Prepare for a disappointment, I doubt something like this will happen. I think we will get a battle like the Scotland fight at its best. And I would bet there will be no random monsters.

Yeah. Most likely. There's been no evidence of that happening. If there's an epic battle on any of the Disney+ Marvel shows, it will come from Falcon and the Winter Soldier as I think Marvel is going to continue with the trope that in an epic battle, the heroes have to be the ones who are already established as such. It's going to be Falcon, Winter Soldier, Sharon and others (maybe Rhodey) vs. Zemo's crew.
