War of the Worlds

I thought it was quite good. Normally cocky Cruise get knocked down a peg or two - nice to see!

Anyone noticed that in the original the defeated citizens gather in churches to pray for deliverance toward the end of the film, but in Spielberg's version the first casualty of the invasion is a church?

I really, really hated this movie.

And in fairness to Tom Cruise, his characters was just not like-ably written. His character's son was even worse.

I enjoyed the Scary Movie spoof (and that wasn't even a good movie) more than the actual movie.

I was an extra in that. Pause the movie in just the right place and you can see me right in the middle of the screen.

Awesome, underrated film. Cruise is fantastic in it and so is Fanning. How can any one think she's annoying in it? She not obnoxious or bratty. I think people just hate kids in movies for being kids.

I will give you guys the son, Robbie. He's an ******* and his survival is a cop-out move.

Aside from the forced happy ending and some of the logical flubs this is an intense, expertly crafted film. It has a sense of dread and fear other films of this kind do not have. The whole arrival and rise of the first Tripod is one of the most intense and frightening things in a big budget blockbuster I've ever seen. It still gives me goosebumps when I watch it.

GremlinZilla, you and I are on the same page.

The son was kinda annoying.

The scenes with Tim Robbins were dragged out too long.
