Mystery/Thriller Warner Bros. Eyes Ben Affleck for "The Accountant"

Watched this last night and thought it was great. Have seen lots of action/thriller flicks with very skilled assassin types like Wolff, but this was a bit different with the whole autism angle. All very cleverly played out and with a decent cast.

finally caught this and all i got to say how in the hell does this have a 51% on RT

critics can have their opinion but i truly believe they got this one wrong

i absolutely loved this movie great visceral brutal action scenes ,great performances, interesting characters and a solid story 8.5/10

I think something is missing from this film. I saw it in theaters but watched it again on DVD recently. I liked it better the 2nd time around, at least.

I enjoyed it too, not exactly redefining the genre or anything but a decent watch. I think the pace might have put some off as its a slow burn but worth it in the end.

I can see why it didn't get great reviews. I thought parts of it were very hackneyed and dumb. I thought other parts were inspired. But I can also see why it did surprisingly well with audiences since it does have some cool stuff in it.

It's an average movie, and it didn't make me think it's a movie I enjoy.

I finally saw this last weekend and enjoyed it quite a bit. I THINK i see why it got mixed reviews. I cant quite articulate it but something felt missing in the story. The story doesnt stick the landing and is kind of schizophrenic on what it wants to be about. The few action scenes we got were well done but didnt WOW me like like a Bourne movie or John Wick movie would. But for the most part I was engagef and I think this was easily one of Affleck's best roles.

To me it's solid movie. I enjoyed it. I didnt had any problem with movie. It did felt slow on some moments and you needed to wait what's overall storyline and how some scenes are connected to have sense, but it wasnt borefest. It felt like natural slow movie and director choice, which is bit suprising giving it is action-thriller movie.

Can you really call this an action movie though? The Bourne movies are action movies, John Wick are action movies, this felt like a character drama but had a couple of action scenes sprinkled in it.

I wouldn't call this an action movie at all. It's just a straight up drama.

Ben Affleck, Gavin O’Connor Back For ‘The Accountant’ Sequel http://deadline.com/2017/06/the-accountant-sequel-warner-bros-taps-ben-affleck-gavin-oconnor-for-the-accountant-sequel-jon-bernthal-also-likely-1202120025/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter …

Warner Bros is mobilizing a sequel to the 2016 hit The Accountant. Screenwriter Bill Dubuque, director Gavin O’Connor and Ben Affleck are in talks to return, along with the producers Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams. All those deals are being worked out right now. I’m told they will then work out the beats of the story, which will likely include Jon Bernthal, whose character asserted himself at the conclusion of the first film. The original starred Affleck as the title character, a math savant with high functioning autism who works as a forensic accountant and un-cooks the books for unsavory criminal organizations under the glare of law enforcement. When a new client put him in danger and the Treasury Department closes in, the title character’s skills as an assassin led to a body count that might have prompted John Wick to say, ‘woah.’ The film isn’t the kind that usually makes a studio like Warner Bros rush to sequelize. But on a $44 million budget, it grossed $155 million. It was a clever, unusual crime thriller, and there is room to expand the palate with Bernthal, who played a long lost bad guy brother equally capable of creating mayhem thanks to the sadistic military ops father who trained them. Affleck next stars as Batman in Justice League, which Warner Bros opens November 17. O’Connor is also developing with Imperative Entertainment the WWII thriller Atlantic Wall for Bradley Cooper to star in. WME reps both Affleck and O’Connor, and CAA and Zero Gravity Management rep Dubuque.

Did not feel like a movie bound to be franchised.

Of course they're doing a sequel. :o

Sequel to this movie is a terrible idea. And I like the first one. Not everything needs a sequel or a franchise.

If they were in the same Universe, it wouldn't shock me to find out that Batman and Punisher were brothers.

This movie wasn't bad but I don't know if I'd see a sequel. Maybe if Anna Kendrick wasn't in it. I typically don't mind her, and sometimes I even really like her but she just didn't seem to fit here. I think maybe because Affleck looked like he could be her dad in this movie. Even though the two characters don't really get together, the attraction between them just feels creepy.
