From cosmicbooknews.com:

The latest to come to you from Cosmic Book News is news on the Justice League movie.

You can check out the latest we have on The Dark Knight Rises and Superman: Man of Steel as well.

Again, bear in mind we can't confirm the information.

As we have previously heard, Warner Bros. wants a Justice League movie. WB Studio President Jeff Robinov has said so himself, and even stated a 2013 release date.

It has even been said that Christopher Nolan will be brought on to produce, that there will be a new Batman, possibly even a new Superman and Green Lantern (as Ryan Reynolds has denied anything JL related).

However, it appears there has been some recent discussion at Warner Bros. in regards to the direction of the movie.

Read on!

Plans are being put together for Justice League movie for either a 2015 or 2016 release.

DC Entertainment will be spearheading the film, and it will be distributed by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.

Geoff Johns, DC Comics Chief Creative Officer and Co-Producer on the Green Lantern movie, will be on the Justice League movie as an Executive Producer, and will be doing the initial treatment for the film before a writer is brought on to pen the screenplay.

David Goyer (screenwriter on Man of Steel) is said to be the initial favorite for the screenplay.

As Johns hasn't started work on the treatment yet, story details will not be made known, just production details within the next few months as to what it will hold.

The reason for the later release date is to get the movie right and do it proper.

They want Christopher Nolan and wife, Emma Thomas, to be involved in the film in some capacity, most likely as producers. Don't expect Christian Bale as Batman; it will be a new actor in the role.

However, Henry Cavill and Ryan Reynolds could appear as their respective characters, Superman and Green Lantern -- but it is too early to tell.

There is a strong indication that the Justice League movie will be part of a shared universe.

WB wants another Superman movie released before Justice League; however, don't expect that story to be compromised for Justice League, as the next Superman film will still be treated as a stand alone film.

Another Green Lantern film before Justice League is also a possibility. It's being said the Green Lantern sequel will definitely be better than the first as Sinestro will be the villain, and also that the sequel will act as the first step towards a joint universe in which hints towards other heroes can be intergrated more easily (than lets say a Superman sequel).

It's a shame it's not true, i kind of liked the news

I don't believe this. The next movie after MOS should be Flash, WW or a new Batman.

Johns failed to impress with his smallville work.

So how do you all know it's fake?

Well there's nothing behind it. Where is that information from? There's no press release. What are the sources?

Of course they want a Justice League movie! They have for a long time. They have put projects in development and summarily killed them several times now. If the Avengers is the blockbuster everybody hopes, you can bet we'll here more rumors about Justice League.

Considering the hype it got and that it's Trailer was the most downloaded of all time i think it's safe to bet that The Avengers will make a lot of money, it will probably defeat The Dark Knight Rises in terms of money it will get

Most downloaded on apple...not to long after they released their trailer app on their fancy ipad gizmo among other things.

Most downloaded trailer ever would take alot of digging I'd imagine, even if it was for a fixed time period.

God I really hope a JL movie happens soon

For me there are 2 ways i would like most:
1- If they decided to make this a reboot and reintroduce the characters then they could use the original line-up without Superman and Batman and so those characters could later have their films.

2- The Avengers route by introducing characters first in their oun movies and then do the Justice League movie

It's too early to speculate on that.

Especially after a generic and bland trailer and three back-to-back C+ films in Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America.

I got my money on TDKR outgrossing every film in 2012.

I don't think TDKR it will make more than Dark Knight did.

When I said that Batman would be rebooted in about five years I MEAN IT AS A JOKE!

And for ****'s sake, don't do a sequel to Green Lantern.

I don't think TDKR it will make more than Dark Knight did.

I don't think that the Dark Knight Rises will surpass the Dark Knight's box office take, but I think it's going to easily beat the Avengers.

As a matter in fact, I think that several films will beat the Avengers: The Dark Knight Rises, Men in Black III, Amazing Spider-Man, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Brave, and possibly John Carter (I think that this film is either going to be a total flop or a huge hit).

A Justice League movie would solve so many of WBs problems with DC characters.. it would be a way of setting up all their main characters without having to go the Avengers route.

Well, you're right there, and if that rumor of DC using their new 52 reboot as a way to get hype for their films is true then it makes sence that the spin-offs after Jstice League will take inspiration from there:

Aquaman is found by most to be lame but will prove that he's a worthy hero
Wonder Woman is active and her past and birth will be explored
The Flash is active and things like his time traveler device are created
etc.

It makes sence in a way as they won't need to start with an origin story

MIB2 didn't do all that well you know and MIB3 is having a very troubled production that makes it look like hell.

First off, The Avengers have a lot of non fans invested and interested too, there are people that are going to watch it because of either Thor or Captain America and not having watched the previous MCU movies.

Men in Black III? Are you kiding me? It will probably be a hit but it won't surpass Avengers, i hope John Carter of Mars makes a lot of money but i guarantee you that it won't surpass Avengers.

The Dark Knight and Inception garnered interest to Christopher Nolan but most of TDK's succes was because of Heath Ledger's Joker, this i see as a fact and i hope we won't have to go on a long discussion for this.

I hope The Hobbit does a lot of money and i think it can match The Avengers, now, Breaking Down Part 2 is the only film that i think will surpass Avengers

No a part of it not most . The film was going to make a lot of money regardlesss . Batman Begins was the top selling dvd in 2005 , while it didn't generate an overwhelming Box office it found a large audience in dvd , and a sequel was going to be bigger , and the Joker in itself sells itself more than Scarecrow

I'm relieved this is not happening anytime soon. Let's see how Avengers does first before thinking that 'more is more' is more than just a cool-sounding rule.

It doesn't matter if it's fake or not, because even if it's real, WB will screw it up somehow.
