Horror Warner Bros. moving ahead with 'I Am Legend 2'

It’s interesting to me that after sitting out for Independence Day 2 and The Suicide Squad, Smith is totally down for a sequel to I Am Legend, of all things.

Well, probably two of those he’s in an assemble and the other he’s the lead. Granted, he’ll have a co-star in the sequel but he has a bit more control because of that.

And to be honest, I Am Legend is probably in the top 3 of his best performances.

Agreed. And also agreed that it’s one of his best performances. I liked the first film and if he’s motivated then maybe a second can work.

Seriously weird the alternate ending is the one that's canon.

I remember saying they should’ve released both in theaters the one where he dies in half and the one where he lives in the other half. Would’ve been fun to find out the movie had two official endings playing in different theaters.

I’m sure there will be a lot of, “I thought you were dead?” to Will Smith in the new film. And he’ll be like, that’s what I wanted people to think but… then cue alternate ending.

If it happens that way, I'm giving +1 to any rating I have for it.

I’m tickled at the fact that every time there’s an update on this movie, they have to address the “No no no, we’re following the alternate ending. Remember everyone, he lived in the alternate ending. Don’t forget, the alternate ending is the one that’s canon for this sequel” elephant in the room.

Almost reminds me of all the explaining they felt they needed to do for Lightyear when that movie hit. At a certain point, you’ve just gotta say “He’s alive. Deal with it.”

At this point I'm expecting them to put some sort of disclaimer in the trailers. "The long-awaited follow-up to the alternate ending...please watch it on YouTube, he didn't die!"

To be fair the first movie was over 15 years ago now. I imagine a lot of people who didn't see the first at the time will go watch this.

It should be a movie that doesn't require anyone, to watch a 2007 movie and whatever endings it had.
