Superman Returns Was Superman Returns the perfect movie?

It was interesting enough to take Superman and show his problems for real, not just some heroic music and some quick last minute solution instead.

What, like lifting a continent sized chunk of kryptonite to the Superman fanfare?

Lifting a continent is not Superman's problems you silly. :) That's Superman's heroic action. Now I see why you have such a messed up perception of movies.

Maybe he should of blown it up with his eyes like he did the Fortress in the second film. ;) :oldrazz:

How about desintegrating it with some Chienese-Wall-anti-re-constructing eye rays from Superman IV :)

or, he could have wrapped NK up with his Cellophane S shield........

Or, he could have used his convenient telekinesis powers from Superman IV........

Or, he could have kissed NK with his notorious Amnesia Kiss.....thereby making NK forget the purpose of its existence..........

:wow:

actually.........the whole lifting NK sequence was one of the highlights of the film for me.

From the injured Supes saying good-bye to Lois ( I just pretend Richard and Jason don't exist....lol ), recharging in the Sun, busting throught the clouds with Heat Vision blaring, lifting NK, tossing NK into space, and the final descent.........

That whole sequence was really the ONLY time where I saw SUPERMAN....and Routh as Superman!! Where I said "Yah.....that's Superman!!"

Indeed, when I had the DVD, I found myself mainly skipping to that part......

 Are you 2 flirting or something? So much talk between you 2.

When you're old and married a little flirting can be fun as long as you know when to stop.

I prefer AgentPat join along with us instead of mega joe. Seeing as I'm straight & all. I don't believe in threesome with another guy. Another girl is ok. ;) :D

Well, in that case, maybe YOU are the one that needs to move along. :)

:wow: Hey I try to have innocent fun here. You're just naughty. :( ;) :oldrazz:

For once we agree SB :yay: , while i dont find it the only genuine Superman scene in the movie, i think it is the most heroic, and the whole thing makes you go through so many emotions its unbelievable.

You can't stop like opening a can of Pringles, right? ;)

Move along from what? I don't know what you're talking about.

No I didn't care for it. I was even thinking of watching it again today to reafirm my opinion on the movie because my little brother has all these Superman Returns/Pepsi stand up posters that were at the grocery store for the "capture of Lex Luthor". Remember those? They were just giving those away and we were 'lucky' enough to get one.

Maybe it's because I've always been more of a Batman fan and am completely in love with Batman Begins but Superman Returns was just kind of "ho-hum" for me. Kevin Spacey was kind of weird in his role as Lex Luthor..I think he kind of played him more comical than I can remember earlier roles. Is there anyone out there who truly loved Spacey as Luthor?

I guess I'll just have to watch it again but I don't see why people made such a big deal about this movie...nothing special to me.

Yes, Art Damage, I have seen people on these boards praise Spacey as Luthor. Personally, I think he's a great actor who completely missed the mark as Lex, but there are some who thought he was great. I agree about the Ho Hum thing, unfortunately.
