WB & DC Meet For A Summit

I think they can get around it as well. I'm honestly surprised Warner Bros. hasn't been in contact with Jeph Loeb. The man wrote the character very well and does have TV experience. I mean I can't be the only one enjoying Heroes. And with Marc Guggenheim supposedly helping to pen the Green lantern script, it's not like having someone who's written a few comics is foreign to the Studio.

Somehow I've never watched Heroes yet.

We shouldn't be surprised by WB. They always do something that makes us scratch our heads, even when they get certain things right.

Personally I think WB should be in contact with Geoff Johns and Chris McQuarrie/David Hayter for the job.

Wondering if this puts Green Arrow out to pasture for 2010. I know he didn't write the 1st draft, but I believe he worked on the 2nd one with the writer that wrote the previous draft.

David Goyer has confirmed that he's writing a new version of 'The Invisible Man' for Universal and his next project could be either that or the 'Magneto' movie.

Goyer tells MTV News that the film will be a 'continuation' rather than a remake of the classic Claude Rains film with the main character being "a nephew of the first character". Some of the characters from the H.G. Wells book will also be included.

Goyer claims it'll push some boundaries - "It's very steam punk...I took what being invisible could mean to the next logical extreme. We do a lot of crazy things in it that are sort of far beyond what anyone's done with it yet."

As for the plot? "It involves Scotland Yard getting their hands on the current Invisible Man and basically saying, 'Wow, you'd be a really good secret agent to send into Imperial Russia right now."

It seems news about every film under the sun is being released, except the ones I wanna know about.

I think it definitely means he won't be directing like it was once thought. Although I'm not sure if it means the project has been shelved yet again.

Well I wasn't a big fan of Goyer directing Green Arrow anyway. Lets hope WB's isn't dumb enough to put that potentially kick a$$ SuperMax story on the back burner.

Perfect team to write a sequel IMO.

I don't think he was ever supposed to direct the movie, just to co-write and be an executive producer.

I thought I had read that he wanted to direct the film, but I could be mistaken. Either way I'm glad he wouldn't be. He's a great film writer but as for director I think he lacks the vision needed to do that particular job.

Last we head, a big screen adaptation of Justice League might not be as dead as we first believed. /Film reader Alex Litel stumbled across the website for Dr. D Studios, a Australian-based “digital media company” formed by Omnilab Media Group and filmmaker George Miller. The website not only lists Happy Feet 2 as being “In Production” and Babe 3, Fury Road and Justice League of America being in “Pre-Production”. The company is actually at the Siggraph conference this week “actively hiring” for “several large scale film projects with a growing team of top talent from Australia and beyond.” The following quote also appears in a press release for the company’s Siggraph booth

...and here you go...

Changing gears for a sec, let's see what's currently going on with Justice League of America. Last week there were reports that the movie is finally moving forward. Guess what - that's not what we heard.

IESB found out the complete opposite from various sources at WB -- the movie will not move forward in its current incarnation and a lot has to do with the success of The Dark Knight. Warner Bros. is not willing to risk pissing off Christopher Nolan or Christian Bale and their intent would be to move forward with a third Batman film instead of introducing another Batman in a JLA film.

Officially WB is stating that Justice League of America is on hold due to the potential SAG strike. We have been advised from various sources that the truth is that George Miller has been pulled off the project. We have contacted all parties involved including Kennedy/Miller and other producers but they have declined to comment at this time.

So does that mean that Miller is out of a job? Nope, we have been told that some execs over at Warner Bros. would like Miller to take over The Green Lantern project. Any truth to the rumor? Only time will tell but one thing is certain in my purest fan boy opinion - this script totally kicks ass!

So Miller might be going on the Green Lantern project and JL may or may not be dead...I love rumors.

I hate this ride. It spins too fast.:)

Maybe GL will be the superhero movie WB gets behind for 2010. A major piece of the movie is in place already, a script that WB supposedly loves. We've heard no such thing about MOS and its script. Plus, consider that the JLA script has been undergoing major revisions and perhaps the massive success of TDK threw a big monkey wrench into those plans, hopefully, so that the project will be put on hold for quite a while. Perhaps GL has taken the lead at WB ahead of MOS and JLA.

It certainly appears that way. I wouldnt mind a G.L. film at all, *IF* they would just do it.

.

I tried to get into it but found it kinda boring. :o I just never got the hype. Is it still on? Babylon 5 and Trek on the other hand were/are awesome, most of it, to me.

Is it just me or did anyone else think the purpose of the summitt was for W.B. to get their ducks in a row ''AND'' excite the fanbase(s)?
So, where's the excitement amigos? We're hearing nothing but rumors here so far. Throw us a bone w.b. Hell, throw us a crumb.

I guess they like to play mysterious and suspenful with us? ...

Its about played out with me.:)

Maybe the "summit" was an excuse for the WB/DC execs to sit together and have doughnuts :o

yeah I've only seen the commercials it really didn't seem that interesting to me.

I'm really hoping that WB pulls a Marvel and has both Man of Steel and Green Lantern come out in 2010.

Plus, one of the characters in the Green Lantern movie is Clark Kent. Perhaps a Brandon Routh cameo is in order. Or maybe this will be in its own separate universe and have someone else play as Superman.

I watched the first six episodes and then I quit. I have never regretted my decision. My girlfriend still watches it and all she ever does is complain about it.
