WB & DC Meet For A Summit

I'm really hoping that WB pulls a Marvel and has both Man of Steel and Green Lantern come out in 2010.

Plus, one of the characters in the Green Lantern movie is Clark Kent. Perhaps a Brandon Routh cameo is in order. Or maybe this will be in its own separate universe and have someone else play as Superman.

What do u mean one of the characters is Clark Kent?

A GL movie WOULD BE AWESOME! He is my third favorite DC hero, after Superman and Batman of course!

Yeah I think WB's should think big for 2010. Try and get MOS to be the summer tentpole and then release the GL film around the holiday time. November Thanksgiving weekend or in December. I don't agree with them using another actor as Clark besides Routh. That would mean that MOS won't happen...?

Green Lantern is better suited for the summer. Warner Bros. needs some summer tentpoles, which they don't have right now. Man of Steel, Green Lantern, and Clash of the Titans would be perfect for Warner Bros. to have out it that time.

And I don't see having another actor play as Clark Kent means that Man of Steel won't happen. I see that as more along the lines of that all these films will end up having their own separate universe. And I want them to form a coherent one like Marvel Studios is doing.

Clark Kent in the script is a good sign. IMO it's clear that they want to invest on the character. The problem is that Superman needs a new movie NOW.

I wonder if Clark in the script is a sign of building up for a JL film. They could do it again with using other well-known JL members as cameo in Flash & Wonder Woman if it get made. Kinda like what Marvel did with adding Nick Fury in Iron Man & Tony Stark in The Incredible Hulk.

Possibly, but by no means probable, and a long cry from certain.

Never predict the future Daniel.

Im hearing BAT3 in 2010, I dont think they have supes on their schedule for the near future :(

I'm not sure where you are hearing that, but it is tenatively scheduled for 2011. Batman I am refering to.

I think they may be skittish with Supes now. I Know we seem to be hearing lots of rumors about G.L., etc, but nothing regarding M.O.S.
If I were a betting man, I wouldnt bet on anything concerning Supes right now. Sequel, reboot, nothing? Who knows.

Not commenting on Superman here, but if Batman 3 were to come out in 2010, they would have to start production in or around Spring of 09. That isn't happening. It will be spaced out three years just as Dark Knight was.

Where I can find your comments on Superman? :woot:
Did you have any recent news/rumor?

meeeh its august.
WB was saying that they will look at TIH numbers. a plus for MOS. then TDK. again a plus for MOS IMO.

Showtimes right, if batman came out in 2010, they would almost need to have a first draft of the script already written or an idea of a story. Same goes for superman, realistically 2010 would be the time for a sequel if they actually went forward with it. At this point they would probably need a story seeing that its almost fall.

^Batman 3 wont be out in 2010, Nolan always likes a break between these big movies, it wouldnt surprise if he did a small movie in between TDK and Bats 3 like he did with The Prestige, another fantastic movie IMO.

One thing is certain. Now at WB they are Nolan's slaves. While Singer isn't in the position to pretend anything.

^I think thats obvious, and I cant believe they havent signed Nolan up to a lucrative contract for at least one more Batman movie.

It possible they did give him a contract, but he didn't sign it. Hell, he didn't even signed a contract for TDK after he did BB. I think it will be the same with Batman 3.

Singer was in a similar position in 2005.
the thing is that nolan already made 2 batman mvoies. one of them is like a masterpiece. he will do a 3rd batman movie and end hes trilogy. and even if it bombs he will make 3 batman movies.
and it has also something to do with luck. if TDK would be relesed at the same realese date like SR was we all know that it wouldnt brake so much records.

Correct, Batman 3 will be in 2011 unless Nolan decides to make another project anytime after spring 2009, then it may be pushed to 2012. As for Superman....nothing, almost eerie quiet on it.

The DC Films should be in the same universes. I wouldn't have any problem with WB putting those three big time films in the summer of 2010. They need to have budget DISCIPLINE however with each film.

Perhaps have the GL film come out in March or May. MOS come out July 4th weekend. Then finish the summer with Clash for Labor Day weekend.
