Hypocrites, I've explained. If someone is going to take a personal offense to a director to the degree that they accuse him of condoning rape in his movies, or just lamblast his sexuality, and talk about how his vision of Superman is so poor, yet GOES AND SEES his Superman film sequel, turns over money to this man's future endeavors, if someone is to do this, they would be a hypcorite, someone who says one thing, and does another. But agian, since no one on these boards have DONE THIS, I haven't called anyone here names.

It's that simple.

This is my entire point, that's why I look forward to a sequel. These people cannot see it, and thus not cirtiuqe it, without "impinging themselves." I think that's tame enough langauge to not be labelled a "name-caller."

Check out the DC films forum for how people are reacting to the raping of Green Lantern. It's IMPOSSIBLE to be positive in there.

I don't go over there and complain about SHH at all. I air my dirty laundry where it needs to be cleaned -- in this case, SHH. But, overall, I find myself not posting that much anymore just due to the inabilty to find rational discussion.

Listen, you can say you try, but when there is a thread just below this one that has a four page dicussion about whether or not Superman raped Lois, I have to ask myself if these boards are being properly moderated. And when I respond in anger at such an idiotic and offensive dicsussion even taken place, and get reprimanded for doing so, I'm going to say something.

I have no problem if someone wants to come here and say, "I disliked Singer's Superman because I felt that it was too melodramatic and that the familiar elements really made the movie a bit of a bore, and I personally just wanted an action film and this didn't deliever that for me." I cannot stomach people saying, "Singer's a ****ing ****ty ass director who fregging turned Superman into some emo ***** with a bastard child! Way to ruin Superman!"

There is a distinct difference between those two statements. Distinct. The first one is someone expressing their displeasure while containing it to themselves, and doing so in a way that makes them OWN their opinion, and not graft it out onto a non-existent universal audience. The second statement is someone turning their opinion and preferences into a matter of aesthetic fact, deriving from that multiple judgements on the director's character, the character's integrity, and the legacy as a whole.

One is an educated opinion from someone who disliked the movie, the other is the nonsensical stuff of many SHH posts.

Would you agree to ban someone who said the word n#gg#r? To most homosexuals, words like *** and/or the use of gay in a negative way as in "that's gay..." is just as offensive.

And its typically not a good idea to rely on those people who are not of a particular group to determine if something is offensive or not...for obvious reason, of course.

That's true. It's not very funny to someone who has never looked at it as a joke. I can be a bigtime jackass, but I don't use deragatory terms. When you live in the city I live in, you practically see all of what the human race has to offer.....It's a wonderful thing.

When these younger kids get into the real world, they'll see how it is. People.....actually respect each other. Your personality wins/loses people over. Not your color or lifestyle.

But, what are you gonna do? Like you said, anyone has access to these forums.....

Well, thank you for your efforts, C. Lee. I sincerely mean that. But, it's becoming more and more obvious as I bump head with more decisions made by MODs that SHH isn't the place for me. So to save drama all around, it probably is best that I stop posting here.

Not if they use it offensively. As I have said a thousand times....the people here at the HYpe have shown repeatedly that they can not discuss the issue of a person's sexual orientation without getting rude and crude. They do not use the term to denote anything nice...and they offend many people with thier usuages of it.

Just saying the word in and of itself is not bannable.....unless someone wants to be a smart elect and use it just to make trouble.
